I've had a very nice laptop shoved in a closet for 2 years and finally fixed it with the help of your video! Thank you so much!!

That's how the CMOS battery SHOULD be accessed. I found a laptop in the trash that deeps five times. Replacing the CMOS battery requires disassembling half the computer and pulling out the motherboard.

Damn quite late but I have a question I just reset the computer and it turned on again with no issues could that mean somethings wrong? Like it was beeping but i just hard pressed the power button and it turned on again and it worked this time. Could something be wrong?

Hello! I have dell vostro 1540 and it is continouly beeping 5 times and then stops and then beep again. I replace cmos battery but it fixes the problem for only 30 min then it again beeping and now when I replace new cmos battery beeps does not stops. laptop is working fine but beeping in speakers and headphone too. Please help!

Cek de konektor of battery c MOS docking, maybe it has a corotion, clean it up with cutter.

This method looks good ..I hope it works🤞🤞

Did it work?

5 beeps......switch on the power cord but dont turn on the laptop yet.....let the laptop sit for a few minutes.....it seems like the battery is out of energy so it cause the beeps.....let the battery got charged a little bit...... My laptop starts beeping after i remove its battery.....so i google the code for 5 beeps.....turn out it's cmos battery problem..so i thought, why not let it charged for a while?......then it stopped beeping when i turn it on

Hello Kunal, The problem is normally due to the cmos battery. Since your laptop is 7 years old I’d advise to replace the battery. That should fox the issue. Hope it helps Thanks for the comment

How about upon start up it makes 5 beeps then it stops then followed by 2 beeps, but it started up. What would be the problema with this dell laptop?

Hello Warren, 7 beeps on a Dell computer normally means that the CPU is having a an issue......If possible, try running the diagnostic process on the computer, that will give you a better report of what's going on. Hope it helps thanks for the comment!

I have today this issue. I went to a service store here at my uni but they didn't manage to help me out. All laptops have such a battery?? My beeps are much more intense. Like a fire alarm.

Is it difficult to replace this battery? I mean for someone who has the expertise, how long does it take? Is the CMOS for all models so easily approachable like yours? Thank you.

It depends on the model. For instance, the model in the video has the cmos battery in a very visible part of the motherboard. However, on other models you need to remove the keyboard or some small case that protects it. If the cmos battery is accesible i would say 10-15 mins.

Hello, For notebook/laptops 8 beeps normally mean issues with the LCD-> screen. If you connect it to en external screen you might be able to have access to the operating system. Hope it helps Thanks for the comment

Hi Brother, I've Dell Inspiron 3543 i5 5th Gen Model, Recently everytime i switch on sometimes lap gets on and some time only 5 beep sound comes. Now last 1 week lap completely doesn't gets ON, only I hear 5 BEEP Sound. So here CMOS Battery could be issue or Motherboard? Since service people said need to replace entire mother board

Hello Rion, Try RE-seating the cmos battery one more time, (take out and put back in), then with battery removed and with no charger press the power button for around 10 secs. Hope it helps Thanks for the comment!
