Date code for 2016 is a backward square C shape with a dot and 2012 is a rounded backward C with dot. Nice and good looking knife.

They are addictive...

Buck has a date code chart, Big E. I couldn’t see it very well but it’s probably 2012. Since you have the Buck 102, you might as well just start collecting them. All those black phenolic handle Buck knives are great knives. You just can’t go wrong with them.

If you like the buck 102 .... you need a 103 .. and a 105 ... and a 118. Oh yeah and the 119 and 120 if you like em big. There's also the 117, which is great. If you can find an old one, there's also the 116. Lol. Anyway, I didn't get a great look at the code but a backwards C with a dot means it's from 2012. That C looked square to me so maybe 2016. Either way, it's not that old. Still a very cool knife.
