Fix Audi MMI 2G stuck on bootloader (A6 A8 Q7 A4 A5)

If you pressed the START #BOOTLOADER option in Audi MMI hidden green menu, then you are stuck on the "Application Update" screen and you #Audi MMI 2G will not go back to normal operation mode unless you insert CD with software update containing the bootloader.
Luckily this CD is a part of 3-disc set with Multimedia interface firmware update, which you can order at your dealership.
After inserting CD1 (firmware 5150) or CD3 (5570) into your cars CD-Changer, the missing bootloader should be installed in your headunit and the #MMI system should be back live again.
I highly recommend not to download pirated copies of the update CDs, as there might be some intensionally damaged copies released to brick the MMI headunit. Also there's a risk of not burning the disc correctly, which can also cause damage to the car.

Hello. I Moved the fuses of MMI display and CD DVD player. Now I'm waiting for the navigation CD bootloader to come, but using my car as usual.

Damn.. I got the 4f0 998 961 disc and it said it was missing a metainfo file.. Bought the disc from the dealership... Any other ideas?

Hi Mr.Fix, I have Audi A6 C7, that comes with RMC Cnt Plus MMI Unit. It's original firmware version was RMC_EU_P10396 and the unit part number is 4G0 035 182G (SW: 0647; HW: H50). I tried to update the firmware to RMC_EU_K16158 and appearantly it updated all components with error "Device Reporting Error" on these two components, thus they WERE NOT updated: 1- VIP_J09_DELPHI 2- INIC_81050 As a result, I don't see my AMI audio input, and my software version is "?" now!!!!! How can I rollback to the older version, I wasn't able to find RMC_EU_P10396 firmware on the internet! My green menu doesn't have SWDL option too as RMC is a bit limited. Thank you,

Hey I just did this the other day and can not free up the MMI. Battery is drained and I ordered a disk off ebay >2016 AUDI MMI 2G NAVIGATION DVD NORTH AMERICA USA #4E0 060 884G< Mr-fix is this the correct disk for my 06 A6? Thank you so much for this info. Any help of this is needed for stupid mistake. Thanks again.

You can update the system from the red hidden menu, which you don’t need to unlock.

Are you sure you have MMI 2G? And not some other system?

I updated sw and pressed the bootloader button, but now i have , no display for parktronic (just sond), No rear view camera, no air suspension menu , and many others menus from “CAR” are not there anymore. all the settings are just the same as before the update, but now i have no acces to change them. PLS HELP. how do i get them back?. A8 2007, MMI 2G High. And please describe it step by step or give me a link where I can find it

You need to: 1. enable hidden green menu 2. check out this page: mr-fix.info/audi-mmi-2g-hidden-green-menu-description/#diag 3. enable all missing features in DIAG SETTINGS

Audi A4 B8/8K - 8K0 998 961. Yap...pressed the bootloader option and now I'm screwed. Got the CD's but still tell me missing HMI section in metainfo on CD1 and CD3 and missing app/bolo setting in metainfo on cd2. It's been a month now and can't fix it. Downloaded the cd's and today received the originals and still gives me this error's. Please help

I bought a cd and it says AU... is it still for europe too?
