FIX any LAWN MOWER in 10 Minutes or less - GUARANTEED !!

Lawn mower won't start? In this video I'll demonstrate a 10-minute technique that will get running 99% of all Lawn Mowers that won't start. I fix mowers this way all the time, especially in the Spring after a mower has sat all winter with old fuel in the carburetor.

I had never taken apart a lawnmower's workings before. It's a Poulan 500e mower. After watching this, I dove in, and after finishing, the mower started on one pull. I was so jazzed. I yelled, "I have made fire!!!"

I was given a Craftsman/ Briggs and Stratton gas lawn mower that looks like it's never been used, it is less than ten years old. I'm sure this video will help me when I try to get it running!! Thank you very much!!
Nice video, Thanks for putting it out. I believe that you have helped a great many people that probably don't have the money to have their mower worked on or to just go buy a new one. Good luck with your channel.
wow... i run a lawn care business and i chit chat with the guys at the shop and they have told me about all the complicated stuff i dont understand... buck you just saved me thousands of dollars thanks brother!!!
Very, very Informative!!! Thank you SO much fir doing what you do to help others save time and money!!! Bless you. 👍🏾❤️
I don`t know anything about repairing lawnmowers. Tried what you said and basically the lawnmower started from the first pull. I`m very grateful - thank you!
I really enjoyed watching this & now I’m going 2 follow this same procedure.
Priceless. Fixed mine in 15 min. Even changed the air filter (used an aquarium filter cut to size, no spare parts around me). Pulled the bowl (dripping fuel, but so be it), cleaned it out, cleaned out the nut holes, re installed it all and bam! First shot. Thank you. Saved me hours and $$$ dragging it somewhere....

Most of my yard equipment comes from the "curb" and I greatly enjoyed my equipment to this day!
Awesome job that the first thing my dad taught me when i started cutting gas at 11 year old. and we did not have ethanol gas back then.
Thank you Buck.. your video makes it seem so easy. My boys bought me another mower instead of trying to clean out the carburetor. I'm going to try cleaning it myself when it gets cooler outside.

I think it just saved me some money! I have a similar Craftsman mower with the same carburetor setup. It would start after many pulls, but it ran rough. I cleaned the carburetor as per instructions in this video. It started on the first pull after the procedure. My bowl had no debris and the fuel screw was not clogged.

Worked for me. Thanks so much!
Thank you Mr. Buck your solution to why my lawn mower ( a B/S model 90000 140cc) kept cutting off was absolutely correct. It's a very new lawn mower but sat a couple of years with a little gas in it. I looked at the other KZread channels until I came across yours. I tried all of those suggestions except take off the carburetor. I was able to locate the fuel injector and put a fine pin into the hole, and then put it back together. And to my amazement, it started right up and stayed on. You're the best.

Your awesome. I have the same mower. I tore it down today cleaned it up. Removed any rust. Cleaned the carb and the bowl, the jets in the carb. Replaced fuel lines painted the metal where the free solution took the paint off. On my carb the choke lever was broken so I glassed the piece back on and shaped it. Still has the same symptoms you just fixed. You learned me I'm going go drop the bowl again now . Ty
Thanks. Good job.

What else can I say? Thumbs up! I will certainly give this method a try, considering that my Toyota push mower has the same issues that your mower showed in this video. My mower is a Toyota HRA214 (circa 1984). This mower has been in the family since it was new. It is in relatively good shape, though I sent the carburetor out for a rebuild about 3 years ago. The mower ran great after the carburetor rebuild, but the next season it wouldn't start. It is my backup mower, but I would like to get it running again. I'll be giving your method a try, considering that the mower currently runs for about 10 seconds with a blast of starting fluid before stalling out.
Thank you

Hey Buck! As you may expect, my Craftsman lawn mower didn't start this spring. I fell on some video from sears, and it was BS. It was asking for specialized tools no ordinary people have. Lucky me, after a bunch of other videos, I found your 10minute clip. It didn't take 10 minutes to me, because I had to buy a new spark plug and air filter. They were 10 years old. But with your help, with my ZERO background in gas engines, I FIXED IT. It was exactly as you described, in the carburetor. So let me say a BIG thank you!!! I opened myself a channel for newbies in electronics here: www.youtube.com/@CU_Wiring_Electronic_Projects/videos And guess what? You have a new fan! Cheers, Chris
I’m gonna do this today 😅
Holy shit pickles! This worked like a charm. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I am a female and just tried to get my mower running after about 4 years of non use. I had already changed the air filter and the oil and this in itself was quite something for me to attempt because I know computers, not small engines. I was getting ready to do what you showed here because your instructions were so clear. I ended up being able to use a particular product (not sure if it will let me mention that here but the brand name starts with an S and the product itself has FF as the initials). But thanks for this video. I would have stopped and hired someone at this point but because I was prepared to take that carburetor out and do what you showed here, you saved me a ton of money. I stood in front of my garage with it running grinning from ear to ear.

Buck! Help! Ive changed spark plug, air filter, cleaned the carburetor, chrcked the fly wheel pin. Fuel is flowing when bowl is down, and shuts off when up. Clean bowl nut. What else do i try?
99 outta 100. Pretty good 99%
I'm hoping this works after I go get the cleaner, even with the old fuel. I have a Toro timemaster mower that I really like, but it's so hard to start. Last year I did the spark plug and new filter, and of course put the blue enzyme stuff in the fuel when it had to sit. Already did the lawn once this year, but now it briefly starts and stops right away. The filter and spark plug were the last time I used it last year. (My effort to DIY).

It’s “ old” gas. Even a month in a gas can is too long To sit. I always had the same problem. I’d have gas sitting in my garage from prior Summer

I took my carburetor completely off to clean and while doing so two springs disconnected and I don't have a clue where they go The mower you are working on in this video is just like mine. Can you tell me where these springs go. I would ate to pitch this mower because of two springs.
I have 2 mower that won't start. An really old Craftsman and a Troy Bilt TB110. The Craftsman has a really weak attempt to turn then it dies. The Troy Bilt last week I got to run for a few minutes then it died. Now it won't even do that. I've replaced as many pieces as I could. I don't think they're getting any gas. I've tried the drilling the hole technique but it hasn't worked. I put the hole just about in the middle and I'm wondering if it's too covered up to breath. I'm either going to make a hole lower or put a hole in the top of the cap. I bought new caps so destroying the old ones is no problem. If u have any suggestions please help. Thanks. My Craftsman did start when I shot carb fluid inti the carburetor. The Troy Bilt didn't. Yesterday I put 2 gaskets behind the air filter on the Troy Bilt and cleaned the bottom jet again and it didn't help. Also cleaned out both fuel tanks and did oil changes
How often should I change the oil in my residential push mower with Briggs and Stratton motor ?
@Buckwsr
22 күн бұрын
Check it regularly. Change it annually, like every Spring, and you'll be good to go!
Wow
How often are issues trash in the gas tank?
What good is having a Cadillac of a lawnmower, with a Pacer motor? 👍🤣 Companies know how to keep you buying, or paying for services.

My lawn boy just died. 24 years never took more than 3 pulls even after sitting all winter. Never needed repairs. Il miss her
You forgot to say anything about the bowl gasket I’ve yet to take off a bowl and be able to get a used gasket back in place because usually it will expand and be bigger
So, did all the things and she still doesn’t work. She fired up with starting fluid. Just got it last year and it was leaking something awful from the bowl. Replaced gaskets and put it back together. Started fine. Didn’t leak. Then it sat for the winter and now it won’t start. Cleaned the carb and jets and still no joy. Any ideas?
It would bea good idea to try to start the mower before you put the air cleaner back on. If it didn't start you would remove the carb to clean all the ports, jets, etc. and you would already have the air cleaner off.
I had to pay huge money to have my mower carburetor cleaned every spring, so I started buying a new mower every year because it's cheaper than paying someone to start it. I've watched tons of these videos. I'll be buying another new mower next week. (the last two I bought still have the manufactures tags on them) Too funny!!!!!

I havre done this on my expensive TORO super recycler model 20057 that is close to 20 years old. This is a self propell one It was always inside between cutting my large lawn. Sadly my problem seems tp be more difficult to correct, than the one shown. After cleaning the carburator , changing the air filter, putting new synthetic oil 1- It took near 20 strokes with a few times pushing the button to inject gazoline to start the engine without any smokes from the exhaust port. 2- After starting, I cut for more than half an hour, very tall grass with the bagger without any problems. The engine running great. The tunnel pushing cuts to the bag was totally jammed by the grass, and the the engine didn't show any signs something was bad with it. 3- Could it be bad a bad spark plug ?, or some electrical problems ? Thanks for your help Luke
@Buckwsr
27 күн бұрын
The primer bulbs on these briggs engines don't always work very well. Bad design. The mower I used in this video doesn't have the primer bulb, but rather the automatic choke, which I much prefer. You can always "prime" the engine with a shot of starter fluid into the carburetor throat and skip that primer bulb all together. That's a bit inconvenient, as you need a 5/16" nut driver (or screw driver) to open the air cleaner and remove the air filter in order to shoot the starting fluid into the carburetor. But it works, and you'll probably start up on one or two pulls of the rope.

@@Buckwsr Thanks for answering my question, may I add that , I forgot to add that when the engine start sometimes I hear like a screeming noise or like the noise generated when you hit a piece of metal with a hammer. This sound can also last for a few seconds, before it vanished. Sometimes that sound is also when the engine is shut down (stopped) . Did you ever had that experience , and what is your feeling about it. This Toro after starting, can cut and bag grass that is over a foot hight without a glistch. Thanks a lot again to care about all of us . have a nice day
