Excellent video. Thank you. To those of you who have a compressor: to blow out the gunk from the tube, I poured hot water like you said and blew air down the hole with a compressor. That avoided having to pull out the fridge and taking out the back panel.

Beautiful! The video that addressed my exact problem. Only wish I had read the comment about the using an air compressor before I started but the hot water seemed to do the trick. And if the leak happens again, I know just what to do. Thanks for your great tutorial!

This was the perfect video for the leaking freezer. Thank you for posting. Total time to fix was about 25 mins. Now, the freezer is draining properly into the refrigerator condensing tray.

Outstanding. Thank you very much for making this video. My mother has this same Frigidaire side by side refrigerator frozen up in all the same spots. She was worried about having to pay costly repairs or having to purchase a whole new unit. I showed her this video and it put a smile on her face. I’m going to tackle this project for her tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you! Great tutorial!!! Instead of pulling out the fridge to get to the end of the tube/hose, I stuck my shop vac's hose underneath the fridge from the front, and suctioned out whatever dirt was in the black drain tube/hose. Again, thank you for this.

Thanks 🎉 My wife is going to think I’m a hero tomorrow when she wakes up & the fridge is fixed. @2:05 you can see two screws (flush mounted to the back of the fridge) that holds a bracket that some of the other smaller water line tubes are attached to. If you remove those two bracket screws, you can slide that out of the way and have more room to work with the large black drain tube. It was too cramped for my hands . Cheers, and good luck people. ❤

Thank you so much for putting this video out! We were struggling to work out where the water was coming from, and was a great source of frustration. The biggest problem I had was the lack of space in the back of the fridge. My hands didn’t leave much room, and was a struggle to get the black tube connected without very colorful obscenities. I figured out that we didn’t want to know what the stuff in the tube was, and am glad it’s not in the tube any longer. Thanks!!

Overall it worked but I had a few issues. The 4 bolts holding the cover to the evaporator were 1/4 inch bolts. A combo of using a socket set with an extender and a screwdriver-type 1/4 socket did the trick. They were very hard for me to reach. I couldn't get both arms back there easily. One of those bolts was already loose from the back. The nylon grabber on the back wasn't seated and it spun with the bolt. I had to remove 3 bolts, slide the panel as far as it could go, get a needle nose Vise-Grip on the back, and then remove the bolt. The panel has sharp sides and it sliced up my fingers pretty good. Once I had it removed, I tried to re-seat the grabber but it wouldn't stay. I decided to remove it completely and do without. I tried to find a replacement but I can't even find the part number. The hair dryer worked OK but it was a bit slow. I tried pouring some boiling water down the drain but a lot of it slid out the side below the drip pan and leaked down to the bottom of the freezer section (inside the freezer). Once it started breaking loose it would slowly drizzle down the tube. Eventually it went at a more normal draining speed. I went to remove the cardboard panel on the back. I had to rip the side because it straddled the water inlet and I didn't want to disconnect the hose. The bolts holding the cardboard on were the same type of 1/4 inch bolts. The refrigerator I have is different than the one in the video. The water inlet is in the way of the drain hose, as is the stack of heat exchangers. The drain hose was far back there and I could barely get my hand in. It was also securely fastened in two places. I might have been able to remove it but I would never get it back together. The space was just too tight. So I left it. I might look around later for a rubber tube and try to line it up inside the freezer and blow through the tube. Maybe insert a rubber washer under the drip pan to seal it up a bit better. I had it unplugged so it would thaw better. I plugged it back in. After a few minutes it started beeping. The temperature select was zeroed out. I reset it to 4 freezer and 5 fridge. That's where it was before I started. I might drop the freezer to 3, in the hopes that prevents a repeat. I used 3 task towels (not the good ones) for this project. I wrung them out, cleaned up any remaining spill, and ran them through the wash by themselves. So far, no more water spills on the floor. It's been a day and a half, so I think I'm good for at least the next 6 months.

Great, simple video. BUT. I had the same problem but the line wasn't clogged. The metal drip tray is not attached to the plastic bottom of the fridge. So the hole in the drip tray was not aligned with the drain in the fridge. So most of the water went under the pan and ran into the bottom. Then if froze over. I installed rubber hose in the hole in the pan down past the fridge drain. Finished a while ago so hope that works.

Do not use a hair dryer. Use hot water instead or a steamer. Hair dryer and heat guns will cause deformity in the casing of the refrigerator. Phenomenal job. Well done.

That was really helpful@@MurraysMethods, thank you. I was getting really frustrated because I just could not see how to get at the hose at all, and removing the main water inlet valve bracket really did the trick. I also had to unscrew the bracket holding the hose to the inside of the unit but when I did that and pulled the hose out of the bracket I could finally get at it to clear it out. Thanks again!
