Fix a Laser Cutter with a Light Saber! | AddOhms Short Film
Ғылым және технология
Okay, not a real tutorial. :) Something that was fun to make. Short film using special effects.
I'll get back to making tutorials soon.
There's two channels I watch which helped me understand much of the editing and special effects. They are,
Surfaced Studios: / surfacedstudio
and
Lone Archer Films: / lonearcherfilms
In addition to their great film making tutorials, I learn much from how they construct their tutorials.

Every sound effect is post-production.Foot steps, switch click, and even the obvious light saber sounds.
Someone learned a few tricks/effects :D. love u budd
The production value of all your videos are quite impressive, this one was no exception. Well done on the fun project and thank you for all you have created so far!
It just needed "mo power" !!! Great effects !!! ;) ;)
Oh Super AddOhms man..You saved me.Youre my hero. How can i repay you.

+Alex Jenal Yes but not often. This was more of a "mindless" compared to the tutorials I do. I would, however, like to change up the tutorials look and feel. More motion tracking, b-roll shots, etc. I'm bored with the whiteboard style. (It won't go away, just may not be the centerpiece.)
excellent video, friend I have a question, I have a solar cell that puts out 2.5 dcv and I want to charge a 9v recargable battery, is it possible?
Is that how you guys Laser trim components at Kemet?
Having once worked somewhere that had a laser engraver - it was a 150W CO2 LASER. Had to turn on a chiller before using it. Kid in engraving forgot to turn it on one day and destroyed the lasing cavity. So I had the opportunity to tear it down and install a new lasing cavity. That was fun.

Yikes. Mine has a water sensor. Which got tested recently when one of the water hoses came disconnected...

Yeah someday I wan to get one and weaponize it. 150W is enough to do some damage.
So there are four Trekies who don't like the Starwars reference.

What was you thinking
In my opinion the visual effects could have been a little bit better, but the sound was first grade. As it would have been from the original movie :)

+MrOffizier Good feedback. Can you please give me links to some of your work? I'd love to learn from someone more skilled than me. This was my first try; and i'm an engineer, not an artist.

AddOhms I am an engineer myself and thus I have no experience in visual effects.
you have a very short... light saber.

OwletPlaysGames it's not the size of the Lightsaber, it's how you use it.........

Michael King that's exactly what short saber guys say! The last time I checked they don't scream....omg you use it so well!!!
Funny...
That’s actually probably grounded in real physics. You’d use the magnetic field created by the saber’s blade (basically a high amperage conductor) to induce a current in the laser tube.
