RIP Speed Channel
Merchandise Haulers. There was something special walking around on the morning of the race and nearly every driver had their own merchandise hauler. I know they are back but it's not the same anymore.
-Dave Despain
I miss them cutting away from commercials to show crashes or lead changes.
We all Miss Chicagoland and Auto Club! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Trackside Live back then was like College Gameday for NASCAR fans. So much atmosphere, so much hype before the race.
Crowning legitimate champions would be at the top of my list.
The center door numbers, why NASCAR why? It's a door number and you took it off the door
We used to be able to watch a race for 5 seconds and easily identify every car. The sport is too expensive for any 1 sponsor anymore.
Right there with you about Trackside/SPEED 😞
Things I miss,
R.I.P SPEED, the best racing channel ever!
End the charters and bring back privisionals. Make teams qualify to get in and if some small guy is fast enough, let him in. Make qualifying matter again.
I used to love watching practice and qualifying after school. Not much was happening, but cars on track was the first sign that it was the weekend when I was in gradeschool.
You can add Stewart Haas Racing to that conversation after 2024
I miss points racing, no overtimes, and the lack of side drafting.
Good list. I agree with all 5.
I miss:
Speed channel 😢😢😢😢😢😢
The general way NASCAR and the TV coverage handled most things in the 2000s into early 2010s was just done so much better, I want to get back to the way things were back then
