Nice video, Brad. I was about to give up on your channel, but this video has kept me subscribed. You are spot on. I almost 100% off-road solo. My vehicle (which I have owned since new) is a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland EcoDiesel 4x4, with Air Suspension (which I LOVE). I live in Michigan, have a cabin in the northern Lower Peninsula on a river, and I travel frequently off-road there and in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My Grand Cherokee has the Offroad Adventure II package with QuadraDrive, and many extras -- Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac Tires (fabulous in the mud and snow), extra Bash Plates (Chief Products, and a special DEF LIne Protector Plate), Mopar Rock Sliders, etc., but no winch. I carry lots of recovery gear -- 4 Maxx Traxx, a Hi-Lift Jack, an 8,000 lb "Come-A-Long," Shovel, Air Compressor, Bottle Jack, Recovery Straps, Tow Straps, Chains, Soft and Hard Shackles, etc. When I need to get back to some really tough places where I hunt and fish near my Cabin, I use my Honda Pioneer 1000 with extra undercarriage protection and "tractor tire" style mudder tires. I am probably going to add a winch to the Honda ORV soon. Your channel is very down to earth and relatable, which I appreciate. Hope you keep producing new content.

Down-to-earth, practical and valuable tips, Brad. Always teaching, which is appreciated! For those who don't know, if you're the slightest bit interested in venturing off-road but maybe aren't sure of your skills, you simply could not do better than to book a trip with Brad and Prodigal Overland. I have enjoyed every trip I have taken with Brad, and have learned so much, and I am so happy I found him. Brad has done stuff off-road that to this day I don't think I could muster the courage to even attempt. So he's the real deal, but at the same time he comes off as your everyday approachable guy. He really takes a personal interest in helping you learn the skills that can take you to places you would otherwise never experience---and I have been to some very beautiful places after conquering obstacles I never thought I'd be able to tackle, thanks to him. Seriously, check his website and consider booking a trip. I guarantee you'll be glad you did.

Really good pointers. The fact you take the time to teach on video, and on your trips, is appreciated.

I love your videos. Wish I could bring my Jeep. Pity I’m across the pond

Regarding the tire section, I agree that the brand doesn't matter, per se, but make sure you are getting quality brands that won't leave you on the side of the road or trail due to failure.

Great lessons you have learned to the degree that you can now impart on and teach us, Brad! I know I have learned everything I know from you! And yes, after all these Badges of Honor earned with you guys I am ditching my OEM tires and getting “proper” ones one size up: Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T, 265/65r18! They suit my off-roading needs, driving style and trails very well! Oh, yes…at 76 I prefer to get my Trailhawk protected and fixed by those that know their craft best: 6Monkeys, you and referred mechanics; my body can’t take the required contortions to fix things nor am I mechanically-minded! I so look forward to Jeeping with y’all again for as long as I can! ❤😊

Hey Brad. Good stuff man. Just curious how the EXP tires are doing so far. Any louder etc?? Im getting ready to put 35s on my Wrangler and can't make up my mind. Def want a smoother quieter ride over MTs for road trips to trails. Thanks!!!

Love the tires. Just put another set of the. On. They do get a bit louder as they wear. But not horribly.

For your Windrock event, you mention focusing on moderate trails but nothing mentioned about whether a vehicle needs any modifications. Can you share what kind of stock vehicle you’d recommend? To add, I probably can’t make this trip due to timing but I’d like to the next time around and would like to better understand your trail rating system.

We pick the trails based on the types of rigs we have out with us. A 4x4 vehicle is a must, we have had complete stock rigs with us at Windrock. We actually just had a 2017 stock for f-150 out with us. no armor. He did great.

@@ProdigalOverland that’s a great approach! I’ve got a Power Wagon, so most things are covered, but I don’t have rock sliders yet. If a stock F150 made it, I’d definitely have no concerns.

@That_Paul_Guy, I remember the very first thing that Brad asked me in my very first event I joined with my then brand new TH with 1700 miles on: do you have rock rails! Which I luckily had, MOPAR ones from the factory (other than that it was totally stock). He answered, you’ll be alright. And I was! 😊
