Thank you for your support Ruth! x
Thank you. Have embroidered since I was 13 (am now going on 76). My stitching is quite good, but my French knots were not even. Now I know what I do wrong. I might use one, two or three threads but I automatically wrap two or sometimes three times! No wonder my knots are not even. Watching you, I thought I will imitate you & found I constantly wanted to wrap too many times. Thank you again, wish I had a teacher like you 60 years ago, as I am self taught NO ONE did embroidery when I did it. THANK YOU AGAIN.
I love your cat. I have one exactly like him. And I live for your facial expressions and kind demeanor while teaching. I’ve learned so much about stitching. Never underestimate the impact that you and Ginger Cat have on our lives.
I’m repeating what everyone else has said, but I must! You’re a wonderfully patient and knowledgeable teacher. You explain all the stitches in such detail for every step. Thank you so much Sarah!!!! I’ve learned so very much from you ❤❤❤
FINALLY! Someone who has demystified the Buillion Knot stitch for me, thank you a million!!

This video has given me an idea for my sister's Christmas gift. An Egyptian design worked in a combination of silk and goldwork. The colours will pop. Silky smooth stitches using the mellor, I love mine.
I have been watching slow stitching. But never did understand they Turkey stitch. Thank you so much for your explanation. I think I have it.
I was struggling with french knots untill i seen your video!! Now i got thank you so much for your time wonderful video!!!
Thank you for existing Sarah!!!
I really like the french knot and turkey rug stitch hopefully I can master both of them
Im a beginner in embroidery and your advice is soooooo helpful, especially for the french knot. I usually used thinner 2 strand thread and wrap more than twice. I've been struggling to pull the thread through and end up ripping the fabric in the end. Now I know what I did wrong.

I love French knots! The only reason french knots are hard for me I’m doing freehand with a hoop. Looks like fun, the stitches..I’ll do them today! Watching first though ☝🏽😳 thank you Sarah, for all your wonderful tutorials❣️🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
Thankyou for this. I love colonial knots over french knots , I don't know why, they are just a bit more substantial of a knot and when I do french knots a so often pull them thru or if I wrap more than once they try to pop up like a pastry but I never have trouble with a colonial. I am going to try your method of how to hold the needle and maybe I'll fall in love with the beloved french knots!

Fabulous! I love all of these stitches. I found that using a milliner’s needle helps with the bullion and French knots, to pull the needle through the wraps 🌻

Hello Sarah - I've just come across your channel. I am absolutely new to this kind of embroidery. I'm a needlepointer. Your work is lovely! I've loved the book series that you did. Absolutely beautiful! I have two questions. What kind of frame are you using and where can it be purchased; and what kind of canvas are you using and where would I purchased that? Thank you for sharing your amazing talent. I'm from "across the pond" so your accent is delightful! Thank you!

I think you could go right to left on the Turkish rug stitch, but you'd have to reverse the process and start on the right and come up on the left for each row. Or maybe that would be the opposite of a Turkish rug stitch.

If you want to go the opposite way then yes just reverse everything!

Is there a more detailed video about threading, I know how to thread the needle but do you always double the thread and tie a knot at the bottom. When you say you are using 6 strands, is that doubled or single?
Hello, how and where do I purchase the punch and dust for embroidery transfer. Unfortunately, I can't see the information you provided.
Sarah, I noticed you struggling to pull your needle through the bullion knots: I bought these from Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07L3SDD5N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They're brilliant! Really grippy, and if they lose their grip a quick rinse under the tap and they're back to full strength again. They're quite big, and can easily be cut into strips to use with needles. So useful in all sorts of ways, but I did buy them for sewing with.
I try to do french knots but I get a loose strand on top
