My favorite one! Could I ask what prompted the title/what is the inspiration for the piece?

Now I've heard your version, I prefer it to mine! To be honest, with these 5 pieces, there was no particular inspiration before I composed them. I just wrote what I wanted to write and then afterwards played them through and deliberated over appropriate titles. I've had the word "thrall" in mind for a potential title for a while now. It's an ambiguous word...in the sense of "enthrall" it's usually positive - enthralled as in captivated or fascinated by - but in the sense of "in thrall to" it's usually negative. Somehow it seemed to suit this piece with its Dorian flavour - minor with a hint of major. And actually most of the piece is based on major chords, with the exception of C#m, so the positive associations clearly won out in the end!

@@GregHarradineComposerI definitely got the positive/excited feeling of the word, or the sense being under a spell. It was a great title choice! Totally understand about some titles coming after though, or changing based on the direction you end up taking the composition.
