Five Parsecs From Home Solo Play, Episode 2: Heavy Artillery
Ойындар
How hard could it be sneaking into a military outpost to sabotage a Big Freaking Gun?
Join me, JMBeraldo, in another experimental way of telling a story by using the random generation of the solo miniature wargame Five Parsecs From Home, and a lot of unexpected dice rolls!
This story is set in the science fiction universe of Veiled Space, in which Humankind is just another of the dozens of decentralized alien species considered too primitive to join the mighty League of Worlds.

RULES NOTE
----------------------
I have some battlesuit miniatures, so I thought, why not use them?
I posted rules on how to use enemies with battlesuit you can check out on the Community tab of this channel. There are options to replace Lieutenants, Specialists or even the common grunt. They are slightly different from what I used in this mission as I learned what worked and what didn't.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

I can't stand static camera angles and lack of sound effects or anything most other channels put out. The rules overlay, dynamic moving camera, and narrative back and forth really bring this to another level. Keep it up, yours are the only batreps that have kept my attention other than Me, Myself, & Die's 5pfh games!

Thanks a lot for the feedback! That kind of thing is what encourages me to keep doing it ❤️
Captain: "Get out! Its certain death!" Milos: "But.... FREE MONEY!" O.o

Thank you, Tyler! It's great to read this, especially as I'm finishing editing the next episode. Makes me want to keep on doing it. I hope you enjoy the next ones!
I love how you take all of the pre-battle roles and turn them into a story. Such a cool idea! I love how much personality you've given all of these characters, even the enemies!

Thanks! In later missions I realized I needed to make shorter episodes between missions to expand on the plot, characters and prebattle rolls so it wouldn't bloat the actual mission, and it ended up been equally fun to make (and much easier 😅)
I like that your not measuring everything out with a tape. That is such a buzzkill. I also appreciate the characters line of site in certain shots. What I like the most, more than every other show I've seen, is that the opposition have the banter back and forth too. Its a job for them and it makes the whole setting more realistic. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback! Very good to know. Yeah, I decided to not show the actual measurement and go straight to the result, so the action doesn't stop for long. Next episode coming up in the next few hours! 😉
I'm completely hooked! Just the best 5PFH channel ever! You put the level quite high!

Thank you very much! I'm working on the terrain for Episode 3 now, so hopefully a new one will be up soon 😉
This gives me Xcom: chimera vibes with all the fun banter. The misses are also helping perpetuate the evocative feelings!

Where did you get those blue and white ships? They look so cool. They look like backwards facing Naboo star fighters.

They are from Pixar's Lightyear movie. Apparently a lot of people in the hobby have been using it. I'm still do do some paint job on top of what cones from the box
Where did you get the miniatures from?

The battlesuit is a Warhammer tau unit, the corp soldiers are from Reaper Bones, Hidh is a slightly modified Black Sun mini from Star Wars Legion, and the other three are 3d printed from Loot Studio
