Thanks John. Mystery to Me is my favorite Mac album, probably because of BobWelch who in my opinion doesn't get enough recognition for his contributions to the band. With this list I completely agree with In Through The Out Door. My favorite Zeppelin album. I was waiting for the band to announce the US tour to support the album when Bonhan died. So sad, anyways great as always! William, Parker CO

All very good albums john, especially Bare trees. I have probably listened to that album more then any other fleetwood mac album. Danny Kirwan might be the most underrated guitarist/singer/songwriter ever. He wrote a lot of great songs.

I bought ITTOD around Christmas after it came out. I rode home on my bicycle with it in a snowstorm and came home cold, wet and hungry to a Christmas-bedecked house with a fire burning in the fireplace and the smell of great food. I love this album not only because it is good, but also because of those associations and the atmosphere at the time it dropped into perfectly.

Maybe because it was the first Zeppelin album I bought (aged 17), I’ve always had a soft spot for ITTOD and would still rank it as my favourite album of theirs.

“Street Legal” is a good choice, I remember back in 78’ that it sounded strange to have a Dylan album with horns, and initially the female backup singers took some getting used to, also, Bob’s voice was starting to change, plus the bad reviews didn’t help, but I was being thick headed, it’s one of my favorites actually, a reminder that with great artists we should keep an open mind towards their work... I’ve been guilty myself of judging things too fast-many times!

  • @jedikiah1541

'A Beard Of Stars' - Tyranosaurus Rex would be my no 1 underrated album. It was brilliant all the way through, and Steve Harley called it Marc Bolan's 'Revolver', which i agree with - every song was great. The recent Uncut Bolan special gives a number of the songs 2 or 3 stars, which is frankly ridiculous, in my opinion. Better than the higher profile 'Electric Warrior' and 'The Slider', for me. The Rolling Stones 'Goats Head Soup' has always been underrated. The Beatles 'Help', although it is hard to justify any Beatles release as at least not being given high regard. This one, though, is one of The Beatles albums that deserves to rank higher. It is a great feel good album, which always retains a wonderful freshness, however often i hear it. It may not have been one of the most groundbreaking of the Beatles albums, but its naivety adds to its charm.

Whenever I listened to "Street Legal," it would steer me in one direction, then SUDDENLY JERK me in the opposite (maybe it was intended to do that). Just couldn't get into it: "I had a new pony, her name was Lucifer (how much longer)..." No matter--I just go on back to my favorite Dylan LP, "Planet Waves," also very underrated. My brother introduced me to Zeppelin as a teenager shortly after Bonham died and In Through the Out Door was the album. It was nothing I had ever heard before and I ended up “discovering” every single album of theirs over the next two years-each one a revelation. I didn’t realize Zep aficionados panned it. I loved every track, lying on the floor in the family room, my head between two speakers. Carouselambra was one of my favorites. Thanks for picking this one, John.

I like the Bob Welch period of Fleetwood Mac, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame with the rest of the group. That Dylan album is good, especially after they cleaned up the mic bleed issue. Another underrated album of his is "New Morning" which doesn't get enough recognition. It's quirky but interesting. "Planet Waves" also gets overlooked. I read that Stevie Nicks owns the rights to that album and said she wants to release it but hasn't found the time. I don't necessarily believe her.
