Hi friend, thanks for the video, is a great tool. If i ask for something else, how do you add other sound patches? i saw in web this unit have 16 sistem patches and 48 user patches. how send the files or if is possible run other sounds? . what kind of files can support this unit? thanks a lot !

Coolest little synth I have bought in a while.

I think I might just get one. With the built in chorus it's almost like a 4 note Juno 60.

Are you sure about fx on mix input? I don't have the synth (yet), but based on the diagram in the manual, the mix input goes straight to the output. It would be great if it worked

@@kalebrosenberg8294 yup, got the synth in the meantime. Mix In goes dry to the output. It's still useful though, if you lack mixer channels.

When will Roland be offering a software fix to address the glaring omission of MIDI Volume (CC07)? This is a pretty serious product defect. MIDI Volume has been around for 40 years and they saw fit to leave this standard feature out. I will ot be buying an S-1 until this problem has been fixed.

Sounds incredible. Trouble is Amazon just dropped the price of a CAT to 199 too so I’m completely stumped as to which one I should get. My gut says get this but my head says the CAT will be out of stock again for who knows how long and might not be art that price again. Aaagh

@@mikemeengs5720 The Cat was back in stock for a bit. I got mine this week. I did see they had the wasp for 150 a few weeks back then it was back up to 180. That's a great deal you got at that price

How does this work with any vocal songs?

My dog did indeed dislike those tones immensely, I had to turn it off.

I guess we get prejudiced against kit like this. But it does have a sound that's attractive. Menu diving. Shift this shift that basically makes me not buy synths. So only way for me is a pc editor with this one. And a vst editor too.

An important finding, if you’re a Logic Pro user. Since Roland doesn’t seem to know this (May 2024), I will post this through my favourite electronica KZreadrs. Having owned the S-1 for about 5 minutes I began thinking about how I could integrate it into my UA/Logic Pro set up. USB-C connection to the Mac. First try resulted in the S-1 taking over completely, no access to UA. The Roland “support” site said that it wasn’t possible to use it with multiple audio interfaces! Accepting the challenge I created an Aggregate Device in the the Mac’s Audio MIDI set up, with the UA as master device. Let there be audio! The MIDI part was a brain twister though. Audio still working fine when I started the S-1’s internal sequencer. But no MIDI triggering the S-1. Double checking the MIDI setting on the S-1 revealed that I had adjusted the chorus, Cho, mistaking the o for a zero. The correct parameter is called CH. Why it wasn’t already set to channel 1 is anybody’s guess. Cool box, lousy support site, as usual. Roland, please fix your extremely slow and unhelpful site Thank you for sharing a helpful video.

Since it uses ACB, why didn't Roland give it the full potential? Just because of marketing? The S1 should be able to do all ACB-stuff.

I agree it sounds more digital and not very SH101, but that said, this was by far the best demo of the S1 I've heard so far. Personally though, I think the SH-4D is the clear winner of Roland's recent return to form.

Please review the new analog synths from Behringer and not this acb crap that my ipad does better

Behringer don't deal with sites like us any more, they made it pretty clear that they consider all of us to be lowlife/corrupt or whatever.. Not a promising attitude for an ongoing relationship.
