Five Lost Video Games | Retro Rampage

Ойындар

What's worse than a game being hard to find? How about a game that's inaccessible, even though it's proven to exist? Searching for lost media has become very popular in recent years, but not every search comes to a definitive conclusion. Let's look into five lost video games that may or may not still exist somewhere out there. The stories are not as straightforward as you might think!

Oh my heart when you started with MM Mania. The fact we never got it still hurts.

It was coming out around my BDay and I preordered it. Crushed me to know I would never get it. I would stare at the ad on the back of a game informer constantly imagining what it would be like when I got it.

Part of me is STILL waiting for that game to come out. And no matter how much the rest of me screams "IT WAS CANCELED!! ACCEPT IT AND MOVE ON!!", he is STILL sitting in that corner waiting for the nonexistent day to come that Capcom finally releases it to the Game Boy Advance years after it's discontinuation...

You had me at that thumbnail! Nobody talks about Mega Man Anniversary Collection on GBA!!! Thank you so much for bringing attention to it and all the other games in this great video!

Here at my city, not a long time ago, we used to had some of those '94 pro version of Jurassic Park Arcade at some of venues and at movie theater lobbies. Not at their best condition but still playables.

one of my special interests is Garfield and it was awesome seeing it here!! i hope it gets found, though hopes are very low considering the way it was released and how early Sega consoles erased data on power off. perhaps a former developer has access to it! i'd love to play them one day!!

I’m STILL hoping that with all the collections they’re releasing nowadays that Capcom will finally give us the Mega Man Handheld Legacy Collection which will include MM 1 - 5 Game Boy, MM Xtreme 1 & 2 Game Boy Color, and Mega Man Game Gear.

Came to this video after one of my most coveted lost games was recently found and dumped for everyone to play, that being Um Jammer Lammy NOW!. Knowing an arcade conversion of one of my favorite games of all-time is now accessible, I couldn’t be happier. The game features a whole bunch of exclusive attract cutscenes and some additional stages not present in the PS1 version (most notably the different stage 1 variants). It’s always an accomplishment when any lost media is found and preserved for everyone. Also that Lost World arcade game sounds cool, I should check it out soon.

I loved that environmental cabinet. It was very scary when you saw that huge t-Rex in the attract mode.

That T-Rex slowly coming toward the screen with the lightning in between freaked me out as a kid. One of the many reasons this game has stuck with me for so long!

I never knew about that Jurassic Park game! I'm getting some classic House Of The Dead vibes. And man that set-up with massive speakers, moving chairs, light-guns with recoil and fans blowing air? Sounds like pure arcade fun! It's a shame licensed games can become such a legally complicated because I'd *love* to play that!

The pc games I've played that I will probably not find: 1. A 3D sokoban game in 2000s-2010s that had some round characters n foggy sea levels or smth. 2. A puzzle game with dynamytes with a funny looking character (I think it was a fly) the game has 3/4 view. Also 2000s-2010s These games might of been from a magazine disk.

Speaking of Special Editions of games with Deluxe cabinets at Sega Joypolis, is there a status on the SE versions of Let’s Go Jungle and House of the Dead 4? They both uses the same ride vehicle system, where the seats faced towards a screen, but depending on the action, the entire vehicle spun around to face other enemies that were behind you.

I don't believe Let's Go Jungle Special has been dumped online, but there are at least gameplay videos online, and House of the Dead 4 Special was included as a bonus in the PS3 port of HotD4.

Along with Garfield's Lost Levels, my most coveted lost retro game is Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures port for the Sega Genesis which was complete but unreleased. One guy is known to have it but he wants to release it officially and tries to get Disney to make it happen. For years now.

Bro, there was a The Lost World: Jurassic Park deluxe cabinet in a bowling alley next to my house, sadly it closed down like 5 years ago because they didn't make enough money back.

There used to be two of the deluxe cabinets side by side at the Dave & Buster's near me, but they were removed a few years ago. I haven't seen a real deluxe cabinet in at least a few years now.

Yoooo I remember playing The lost World at the Old Gameworks In vegas (sadly that place is now a marshalls) but it's crazy. I'm sure sombody has footage since it was there until the mid 2000s. And yeah the thing was massive, it was about the size of a shipping container. Crazy hopefully they find it. I'm sure it's out there.

I hope some footage gets found soon, as I really want to see that San Diego level. You're very fortunate that you got to play it. If I'd have known there was an alternate version of the game at GameWorks, I'd have been begging my parents to take me back then!

I love this video! Chronicles of Riddick; Assault on Dark Athena is IMPOSSIBLE to play on PC, without one of the original console release discs this game is lost. You can not play this game on PC. I thought, 'challenge accepted', so I purchased it on amazon digitally, activated the code on GoG, but unbeknownst to me, the security feature that blocks you from playing is outdated and no longer works, so you need to hack your legit PC copy just to play it!

Where did the screenshot at 3:39 come from being emulated on pc? was a rom not found?

  • @RampagingRex

    @RampagingRex

    3 жыл бұрын

Those screenshots were sent out to media members at the time by the developers themselves. If a ROM exists, it's still in Capcom's possession.

@@RampagingRex you're telling me capcom themselves emulated the game on pc to send photos to the press? That doesn't sound right- shouldn't they have used the gamecube gba player or the wideboy 64 for the N64 for screencapture? May I ask for the source for those emulated screenshots I'm curious to look further into it out of my own sheer curiosity.
