Thank you, I have played guitar for years and recently purchased ukes for my wife and I, (she has never played). We will soon be joining our local ukulele group and we have just learned the simple chord version of this song. I will be learning your version as the basic version lacks any challenge for me.

You are so good....not just that you play well, but you have fun with the song! In West Virginia, the "back-porch pickers" always say.....It's not how good you play, it's how good you feel!" I'm sure everyone that sees your video is singing along as you play, and your teaching is right on the mark too! THANKS!

Marcy, this video is one of the first ones I ever sat in front of the computer with my uke to. And MOST of it is something I now play every day. It would be the first chord melody song I learned if not for a few rusty parts. My main headache is that pesky 'B' passage. I also need to bring the instrument back to the computer desk to refine it. I can't express my thanks enough to you, and I'm sure it will come in the form of a response video in the near future :)

so that's how to play 5ft 2... this was first tune i learned, but all done on the first 3 frets, no augmented C- sounded dull compared to this. My fingers feel like bananas trying to get round it this way- but they're getting better- Great lesson thanks muchly

@miarosie Marcy appears to be using a pendulum strum where her hand goes down up... dudududu, but it doesn't hit every down nor every up. I starts out d du udu, d du udu, but she varies it to fit the melody. Sometimes she plays d d dux ,dux d d where x is a down up that doesn't get played. She does this in the line that goes, 'Oh what those five feet could do.' I think she may hit some of those silent du ever so lightly, but you'll have to wait for Marcy to clear that up. Hope this helps.

I'm curious, what type/ brand is your Ukulele? It looks like it has the Fretboard of a Martin 000-45. Or, a Martin 5 K.
