The end where the black guy finds his comrade on the streets is powerful. What he says is "its me, jacoby. You saved my life brother". Then picks him up by the lapels of his shirt. The same way you'd pick up a wounded soldier. Wounds don't have to bleed to hurt. Which is very symbolic

He picked him up the exact way that same soldier picked Jacoby up earlier in the video when he saved his life. “Mirroring,” I think is what they call that.

This song brought out so many tears from reactors. When I was in my teens the Vietnam, war was happening. The Soldiers came home and were shunned and looked down on. They could not get work, relationships lost, addictions to drugs, and homelessness. The Country turned its back to them. Of all the wars the men and women in that war I respect highly.

I've probably watched this music video 1000 times. Tears evey time. I'm so thankful I was one of the Lucky Veterans that didn't have this happen to them. Could have if I let it but I luckily had an amazing support system. No one Is ever prepared for the first time they see it.

7:53 "They Don't Want To Admit That They Need Help, It's Just Not What Guys Do" That's absolutely true, especially those who are former military. In their POV, admitting that you need help is a weakness, and there's a huge stigma in admitting that you need help

That diesel sound in the beginning. I remember that sound, on hot and cold mornings. huddled up, listening to the brief, hands in my pockets, when they weren't supposed to be. I wish I could go back.

I spent 22 years in the Army, retired in 2017, and I could not agree more with your point about returning to "normal" life. This may be normal for most people but after spending almost my whole adult life fighting one war after another "normal" is anything but normal for me. I moved to the Rocky Mountains to avoid people because civilians just don't make sense to me.

I used to not like this band but when I heard this song I became a fan. I seen them live in 2019. Ivan the lead singer stops the show and gets a woman in the audience which her husband was deaf from war. He got the band to sign a flag for her and her husband. That gave me more respect of the band. Ivan came from a military family. I gave more respect for the band after that concert. I just hate when people hate the band because they are popular. It like why hate the band because they are popular. I wish I did their VIP meet and greet years ago.

My late father served in The Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force on the ground setting up Radar on the front lines to keep track of the Korean and Chinese Air Planes. It was a very dangerous job, as ground troops had to be assigned to protect to the Radar sites. My older sibling was in Saudi Arabia assigned to their Army to help coordinate all of the heavy armor movements to fight the Iranian forces. Not exactly a safe job either! My younger brother was stationed at an American Hospital as he was assigned to the ward that treated soldiers that were struggling with PTSD. Some were under constant watch to make sure they didn't attempt suicide. Problem is...PTSD doesn't just go away...the depictions of the soldiers in this song is real...and our Government needs to help these soldiers...men and women...by building hospices where soldiers can have a safe place to live, and get the treatment the deserve...at no cost to the soldiers!

To give you a bit of info, the tattoos you saw on the forearms are usually divisional insignia, or even branch insignia, such as the US Marine Corp. "EGA" tattoo, which is the Eagle-Globe-Anchor emblem of the Marines. And in this case, the cop recognized the tattoo, and recognized a battle brother needed help. Which is why he treated the homeless vet the way he did, and took the cuffs off. Because he understood that the man he had been called out to respond to was dealing with things from his combat service overseas.

Were used and theown away without any remorse, i have people saying thank you for your service and while i do appriciate that alot, but as someone who served i would rather they thank the real heroes.....the ones who paid thebultimate price and didnt xome home to their families, some who have never met their children because they sacrifoced themselves to protect their brothers and sisters back home and now their chold will never how much of a hero their parent was. We get off a plane and have people spit on us and call us horrible names, but they dont realise when they do this to us, our brothers and sister died for them to have the right to be ale to do that.

Oh man, oh man.... As a veteran, this song cuts so deep to so many of us. You hit the nail on the head.... Trillions of dollars on the military!!! More than 26 of the top countries combined!!!! But no, help when we get out/discharged! And you are so right, we have been instilled to not ask for help, to "Ruck up and shut up", "Shut up and color", "Rub some dirt in it and push", and so many more key phrases. We were trained to be hard and "invincible" and when we showed weakness, or asked for help, we were ridiculed, hated, belittled, berated, and treated like garbage. "IF YOU CANT FIGHT, YOU AREN'T SH!T." So we "kicked rocks with flip flops," and "pressed on." And the dynamic is slowly (I mean sloths move faster) shifting. Those that are dealing, fighting, maintaining, and have been there, are now in positions to change the dynamic! But we as vets need the Gov't to make the monetary change! We need the Foreign Aid funds shifted to the Veterans! Thank you guys. Sorry for the soap box rant! I love my brothers and sisters in arms!

This is why you should make sure you start the video from 0:00. You missed the first part which read "THE ONES WHO LOVE YOU THE MOST". Then it goes to where you guys started on "ARE THE ONES WILLING TO FIGHT FOR YOU." Please keep this in mind for future videos. And play the video ALL THE WAY TO THE END. There was a whole bunch of stuff you guys missed out on.

Love this song, and it’s why I have a problem with the military and the US defense budget and how it’s spent, because The US outspends the other industrial countries combined but most of the money goes to corporations to make the rich richer and the actual soldiers are left with the scraps and the programs to help the soldiers when they return aren’t funded good which is why there has to be charity organizations that to have to step up to help, and I wish they would have commented on the high rates of sexual assault in the military

Politicians make budgets...they focus on the build up and the act of war NEVER on the after math. Promises made; Promises broken! Too many times politicians are your best friend to get you to fight their cause and they tell you how they will be there to make sure you are taken care of...well once the conflict is over they have moved on. The military is made up of 1% of the US population and we aren't the politician's children. It's easy enough to send someone else's family to fight for our freedoms and rights. It isn't being too introverted to ask for help; it's the losing your career over the need for help. Imagine you have some issues with TBI or PTSD, report it and 9-tenths of your job your are no longer allowed to do anymore. Now you've got superiors bad mouthing how useless you are and peers and subordinates bullying and shaming. And a vicious cycle starts without end in sight. And of all it imagine the disappointment we carry about ourselves: we don't need your help - we are here to help. USAF
