you know, all the hate for this band really disappoints me. they produce the best sound they can while relaying messages they believe are important. Honestly, that's all it takes in my book. respect

I play a lot of online games and one of my closest friends says this to his child all the time “I work to pay for a roof, the food in your belly, and clothes on your back, your only job is to go to school, study, and get good grades”. Now I am saying this because his child is also a gamer and a close friend to my son. My son doesn’t play games as much, he would rather be outside and play sports however he tend to struggle sometimes in school but saying that quote tends to assist my son and give him perspective. Pride in our children is watching you grow up and when your in teenage years most parents start to back off and let you make mistakes so that you can learn from those mistakes. I know its sounds like I am siding with your parents but I assure you they are very PROUD of you. Also you might just want to sit down and have that conversation, don’t argue, just talk.

Sorry to hear that man, my Dad was the same. He felt rules didn't apply to him. He stopped drinking, and smoking cigarettes; but replaced it with overeating, and religious dogma. Instead of liberating himself, he just traded in one addiction for another; and he never found the peace he was looking for.

"This is not enough..." was the last thing I heard before waking up in a closet bleeding from my ears, nose and mouth. A 6-year-old should not hear those words and wake up like that, but today, I am wrapping up my first degree in psychology and going for my masters in a couple of months. It is not easy to face down your worst enemy, only because it is you, and that truth evades many people.

Awesome song and important powerful music video because this sadly happens in real life. In this music video called “my nemesis” from five finger death punch, it shows three storylines playing out with a teenage boy exiting his home to escape from his abusive father, a teenage girl leaving her home & hitting the streets to get away from her drug abusing mother, and a vulnerable widowed man dealing with extreme grief after losing his wife & walking in on his disobedient spoiled son & his thuggish male friends using drugs. You later see in the last part of the music video a group of depressed young people plus the widowed man all end up at the beach staring longingly at the ocean as an important message appears on the screen. “Grief is an irreversible current of sadness when you miss your last opportunity to be there for someone." This goes to show that we humans must obviously show compassion for each other. To all my fellow human brothers and sisters around the world, stay safe & always remember be genuine & take care of one another.

Here's the lyrics: I'm leaving behind this world And all the things I am I'm tearing away from it Because I know I can I'm pushing away from you And all the things you are Don't need the memory Already wear the scars There is no yesterday Tomorrow's far away I gave you everything And in return You gave me nothing Show me a sign Please give me anything I will not hide from what's inside of me My nemesis I'm turning away from me And all the things I've known I don't need your help no more I can do this on my own I'm taking all the blame Resent what I've become I regret everything and There's nowhere left to run There is no yesterday Tomorrow's far away I gave you everything And in return You gave me nothing Show me a sign Please give me anything I will not hide from what's inside of me My nemesis I gave you everything And in return You gave me nothing Show me a sign Please give me anything I will not hide from what's inside of me My nemesis

Soooo done with that lifestyle and now that I have finally seen myself thru my own eyes looking at my nephew who has the same problem. I see how much it has affected both of us and I know that I certainly can't live that life any longer and drugs are "MY NEMESIS"!! I love you nephew more than you may know!! I pray for you as well as myself. We are both stronger then we've shown to be. I'm gonna learn to believe in myself and I hope you do the same. Thank you FFDP for making the music you do, it totally speaks to me!!

A lot of people take Five Finger Death Punch as this heavy metal, headbangarific noise. But the lyrics to a lot of their songs, have some very deep meaning, clear in the videos. Wrong Side of Heaven is the perfect example, and so is My Nemesis. This song shows, how an abuser of alcohol or some other substance can disregard everything their loved ones do for them, because they're giving them everything, and in return, they get nothing. If you pay attention to these lyrics, you can see how this band isn't this hardcore group like most believe them to be. These vocals, the power of each word, and how the meaning is put into them, in a style quite like KoRn's own, is great. You have to respect these guys for the work they put into these songs. Wrong Side of Heaven especially. That aside, I love you guys. Every bit of this music, how you make it so perfect, it redefines metal music in a much different way than KoRn and Slipknot did. You bring an entirely new side to the genre, and it's one that's fucking awesome. I want you guys to continue for as long as you can, until you're old men stealing the spotlight.

Much of it is the videos. The words to "Gone Away" were written by Dexter supposedly regarding the death of his girlfriend. FFDP's version tells the story of survivor's guilt of a soldier in Iraq. The words are Dexter's, but the video and delivery is FFDP, and it is a man with a dead heart who does not cry watching it.

I can't listen to most thier songs without getting emotional unfortunately I am a girl who has been brought up to see that as weakness. Anyway you guys rock keep going, its really real straight to the gut feelings 😝✌️

Imagine what most guys are brought up in this world not to show tears or inner pain.... It's collective, the wounded masculine.

Maaaaaan. These guys are rockin' out HARD and leaving EMOTIONAL messages in their videos. They hit home HARD for so many people and for so many reasons.

I've never had a rough environment to grow up but I had my fair share of mental difficulties, I just lobe it so much that you guys combine mental problems with such good music! I always enjoy listening to you guys❤
