The song was originally done in 1974, by the British band, " Bad Company ". ~ "Bad Company" is a song by the hard rock band Bad Company. It was released as the third single from their debut album Bad Company in 1974, although it did not chart (in America). Co-written by the group's lead singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, the song's meaning comes from a book on Victorian morals.[1] The song uses the same chords and piano figure as Joni Mitchell's song "Woodstock" from 1970.

My dad used to have long hair, an equally long beard. He didn’t have a care in the world. You couldn’t go five minutes without him cracking one of his cheeses jokes. Then he became a cop. 2 weeks in the force and he’d seen a man begging for food and water strapped to chair, left for dead with a stab wound in his stomach. 2 years later, it only got worse. After 3 years He decided to work as a highway patrol officer instead, only to be met with a roadside fatality nearly once a month. To this day, he is cold, stressed, always nervous and barely sleeps. My heart goes out to anyone who either has or knows anyone with PTSD.

Ex Vietnam LRRP here. I feel for you, your Father, and your Family. I could not do the job he is doing. The last thing you would want is me out there with any gun. On the range is one thing, dealing with idiots is a whole different ball game. The sickness works it's way through the whole family. Takes out the good, and leaves sadness and confusion in it's wake. Just about the time you think it's gone, it comes charging back. My Father was an engineer in WWII, and after he went to work for the skunk works. The SOP back then was liquor, and he used it. There is not one day goes by since I was 8 that I do not think about dying by my own hand. It's hell on the people that love you. If there was something I could magically wave my hand and take your Fathers PTSD, I would do it gladly. Never ever, ever, believe anyone with PTSD when they say they are "fine". My Prayers to you and your Family. Also to the Soldiers fighting for us. Please know we honor you all for protecting us. Thank you to the Entertainers that go for our Troops.

60 years old and retired Army Sergeant Major and remember this song when Bad Company first sang it. This is a great rendering of the song and I greatly appreciate this band in honoring the sacrifice of so many. I see posts from different countries on here and it reminds me that we are all the same on the inside. We all bleed red. It is governments who are responsible for war not the Soldier. We serve honorably and should be treated likewise when we come home.

This world needs to heal from all these wars, someday this world will start aging rapidly and our generation won't deal with it but 3 generations from now they will and I hope they can learn to stop sending millions of troops to die in the place of one man's beef with another country. So that we as a human race together, can be here to save each other in times of need cause we all need someone to vent to let them know that they aren't alone in this world.

ViiVe_Xiled Do you fight for a military? You are a soldier. The branch may give you a secondary title, but the fact remains you are a soldier doing your part for life, liberty, and country. Rangers are still soldiers. D-boys, ISA, SOG, all still soldiers. AF Predator pilots? Soldiers. Battleship gunners? Soldiers. They title Marines, Airmen, Sailors, etc., are used in order to tell your branch immediately and do not mean you aren't a soldier.

I served with some dudes from the RAF. I'd see them constantly at this one chow hall. Names were Jon, Sebastian and Kyle. One of them was apparently an officer and I never knew it. We'd hang out and talk shit about each others sports and what not. One day they wanted me and my battle buddy to hurry up with chow and follow them outside. We get outside and they hand us a small bottle of whiskey and told us to drink one for them in about two weeks because they'd be home and would be doing the same for us.

Been an outlaw ever since I took those first steps as I was a little kid, I'll be turning 60 in a few months I've done just about everything, yep that too did 25 straight years on a 30 yr bit here in Missouri the show me state, I don't just talk the talk I do the walk the walk too.,i just wish I knew the things today back when I was growing up because I will tell you you now growing old sucks 😞 but if I didn't do those things back then then I wouldn't be the man today, I still have integrity honor and respect for those who deserve it, I still say yes Sir and ma'am,these songs remind me of me like some one wrote those songs about me,well I ramble on Long enough thank you Jesse Howard and your band for letting me think about the old days and how we were brought up... God bless All of you 💞
