The fact that he has chosen "Punch Drunk Love", one of my favorites, and goes on to mention books and cafes has sealed my love for this amazing human.

That voice!
Bill Nighy is simply the Best !
Bill Nighy reads Ford Maddox Ford’s Parade’s End on audible.
I have always loved Bill Nighy especially as the rock star in Love Actually when he said, 'Kids, don't buy drugs ........... become a famous rock star and they GIVE them to you for FREE! xx
So interesting, I could listen to him all day, one of my favorite actors………….Donna in Toronto
This is the best interview I've watched this year.
I adore him
The first time I saw a Bill Nighy was in 1984 on the show Reilly Ace of Spies. A drama about Sidney Reilly and his eventual demise by Operation Trust run by Felix Dzerzhinsky. A Most important drama, especially in the political world today.
Good list of questions. This simply done format with interesting people has legs.
Just love this man❤️❤️❤️.
if you missed Page Eight series he made about him being MI6 , you must watch it! I rewatch often. its that good.

I'd love a 6th favourite - Music!
How does one, not love Bill? One just does! And I love he's giving us all “ the finger” the entire time.
I remember seeing bill once get his shoes shined at the Burlington arcade
Bill Nighy is such an interesting person ❤ and a marvelous actor. I wish he was my friend so he can lend me some books and share music. He hosted three BBC radio shows and the music he chose was great!

Love the fact his favourite film is an Adam Sandler film. Totally without pretence.

Love there Paris answer ❤❤
Ford Madox Ford. Assumed that was just a fictitious character in J.M. Coetzee(youth?). Good to get a summary. Lots of roaming around in Trocadéro in my youth -- mostly because my apt there was quite small, only way to breathe seemed to be outside. Brings back memories. Coffee in Paris was expensive! Actually after a week of writing previous sentences, I find on the internet about J.M. Coetzee: "He worked for several years as a computer programmer while he researched his thesis on the novelist Ford Madox Ford"

Hot ones!
As you did such a good job of Sam Gamgee I thought you could the part of Roy Tucker in the Archers. Parades end? You can do stream of consciousness best of luck. I thought Kerouac's Vanity of Duluoz was good stream of consciousness but with a story.
Going to ask these questions next time I’m out to dinner.

Sadly, only managed to visit Paris once, so far, I agree with Bill.

Bill, I’m going to forgive the Sandler slip up. Obviously you lean into light hearted films at the avoidance of more complex cinema - Innarritu’s Biutiful ? Or The stoic brilliance of Blade Runner 2047. But alas it’s good to have clever comedic drama at one’s finger tips to open the proverbial drapes from time to time. As for books,do you shy away from the hard edge of novels like Blood Meridian ?
@rigsby1454

Are you calling Punch Drunk Love not complex? Haha. One of the most heartfelt, strange and tough film there is with PTA's brilliance and a superb Sandler performance. Hilarious

@@rigsby1454 I’ll watch it. I find Adam Sandler opaque, but then again I’m a Cormac McCarthy devotee. Not the easiest to sway towards comedic relief, but I’m open & curious to acknowledge I’m not always right :-)

I'm pretty sure the painting he is referring to is titled "A Study of a Woman in a Petticoat" (1902-1903). As of 2011, it was held in a private collection. It measures 36.1 x 30.4 cm, which goes along with the size he indicates in his description.
