Yes two of them nailed it but now I realize just how hard it is to set up. The first and second singers had the hardest part, setting up for the familiar crescendo. Love this . 💜🌷👍🏼

Come on, own up: who was expecting this to be WAY worse than it actually was? 🙋🏼‍♂️ For 5 comedians - not professional singers - to deliver a performance like this with 24 hours notice is absolutely miraculous. Bra-bloomin’-vo. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Jayde Adams and Caroline Quentin could train to be opera singers tbh. They've got powerful voices and my god, Caroline has control of her diaphragm and the dynamics! She could totally train for this!

Caroline was a West End musicals actress before doing TV comedy roles. She was in the chorus of the original cast of Les Misables.

I studied opera, went to college for it. Don’t sing professionally, but I’ll still sing from time to time. I wouldn’t choose this song to sing. Like, at all. These 5 should be proud of themselves. This was not easy.

It is a brilliant aria. High pitched, sad and emotional! I used to cry whenever I heard it being sung. It would bring to mind, my father's passing. I still get goosebumps.

They can sing - unlike the other three - but brave for giving it a go. I remember Lulu appearing with Jennifer Saunders in a couple of shows. Made me realise what a good actor JS was. The actor with the best voice I've ever heard is Minnie Driver. The comedian ditto is Jason Manford.

Holy crow Caroline Quentin and Jayde Adams! Pitch and pronunciation perfect! I swear, Caroline is a Renaissance woman; gardener, actor, artist, and singer! The others did very well also. Beautiful!

The result was actually so much better than what I expected. That being said, my biggest takeaway from this is that I desperately want this to be the next cast of Taskmaster.

I can't stop thinking about Patsy Stone in the audience smoking and watching Eddy singing opera 😆😆🤣🤣🤣

The shock on their faces when watching the aria sung by a professional😆 Applaud all their efforts, even though only Caroline and Jayde had pure tone and pitch. Truly appreciate their bravery!

To be fair to him, if he’d had longer to perfect and prepare I think he would have been up there with Caroline and Jayde. I’m hardly an expert, but it felt like he had the voice but struggled with the language too much to fully use it.

the jacket came from a designer called Beatrice von Tresckow who has shops in Cheltenham and London.

Goes to show you: talented people are often multi-talented. I’m pretty sure Jennifer Saunders can walk on water!

Me, too! I used to break down and cry when I heard the aria.

For not one of them being a professional singer let alone opera singer they absolutely smashed that!

Caroline Quentin has such a beautiful voice, she is really the best of the lot.

Not only the demands of daunting operatic music but to learn the Italian as well! But ... don’t you wish you could see some clips from their rehearsals?

Caroline and Jayde were amazing but it was an excellent performance by all for 24 hours of practice

I thought Jayde was an opera singer as well as a comedian though because I've seen her sing Nessun Dorma before on the stand up sketch show. Now wondering if she's just a bloody natural who filmed this first and used it for her comedy after 🤔

Jayde's been using opera in her stand up for some time but she's never trained as an opera singer, she just taught herself. She's got stories about wanting to join the choir at school, that are better told by her, so I'll let you discover all of those yourself (I think she talks about it on her radio 4 special). And yes, she's always had a lovely voice, but this is clearly some next level shit!

I'm amazed how accents disappear in singing. Jayde and Caroline were incredible, the all put in a brilliant effort, especially for 24hrs!

The 2 ladies in the front just took it away! Great job, guys!

i lost both my grandparents this past year, i grew up on their farm. seeing you sing this is the first time i have cried for a good reason in a long time. thank you, What an amazing song and amazing courage to do it.

That was absolutely incredible! So much better than I was expecting from everyone, with a couple of them being totally as incredible as the professionals.

So much about singing is confidence and just giving it a mighty go. They all did a great job considering the skill and training required to sing any aria. What a brave and great thing to do for charity! Caroline and Jayde clearly have really substantial voices. Great stuff.

Jade and Caroline were amazing - but good on the others for giving it a go.

Expected crap, but with laughs... got actual talent, wow! I haven't seen Caroline Quentin in years but was thinking about her the other day after watching an old Jonathan Creek - awesome to see her again, wow she aged beautifully!

My Canadian eyes only recognize Jennifer, but the other gals in the front row might want to think about including Light Opera or Musical Theatre in their pursuits...

Yet another display, if it was needed, of the astounding courage that actors and comedians exhibit when performing. Hats off to all public performers.

I giggled so much in the beginning. So entertaining. And then you all started singing. And my whole body was goosebumps. Chills. JOY. My. Word. You are all magnificent. Rushed right over to donate.

2 (Jayde and Caroline) were fantastic. The other 3 gave it a good go. Well done to all 5 for being so brave.

Obviously Jayde Adams is a classically trained singer. So unexpected! She was very good!!! Caroline had training too. They did the heavy lifting. Bravo to all!!!

This is my favourite song......makes me cry every time. I was completely surprised with how well you all did.....AND....I cried. Congratulations! Well done and thank you from Canada 🇨🇦.

It’s amazing that so many people don’t know that Caroline Quentin was in the original cast of Les Miserables in London. I can always pinpoint her voice in Lovely Ladies on the cast recording! I’m kind of obsessed with her as well lol

Jayde Adams sounds like a professional opera singer but equally there all so good.

Alex and Caroline’s smiles when they know they’ve smashed it is everything 💙💜

I'd have loved to see some of their coaching-- operatic vocal exercises are hilarious even when the singers aren't comedians.

Absolutely uplifting to watch! Our celebrities proved that they can stir the the emotions of the country along with all those humanitarians who have striven to make the best of a situation in very testing times!

I had no idea Caroline Quentin could sing so beautifully! I'm not a Brit, and I'm only familiar with her and Jennifer Saunders.

Just watch it again.... Still bloomin' amazing of all of you.

That was 100 % pure entertainment from 5 brave comedians. I wish we could find that artistry (is that even an English word?) in Sweden. 🇸🇪🤣😂🇸🇪

Yes, artistry IS an English word. We have a tradition of "having a go". I was always told when I was learning to sing "sing with a confidence you don't feel and the confidence will come". People will forgive you if you're seen to be genuinely trying - especially if it's for charity as this was.

I'm in a choir and 24 hours to learn these parts in harmony with each other is fantastic. Red-haired woman was amazing, what a voice - sorry didn't get her name.

Congratulations to all of them. Probably the most scariest thing anyone one of them has every done. Totally out of their collective comfort zones. It wasn't about how good they were, it was all about participating.

I don't know why, but me not knowing whether they're crying because they think it's beautiful or at the thought of singing it themselves, is just making me laugh so hard LOL.

I did a search for Caroline Quentin singing after her Adele emulation on "I am sorry I haven't a clue". She has a truly outstanding voice. I would love to hear much more !

Nessun Dorma is my all time favorite. Makes me cry every time I hear it. You guys did great!!

There were two other comic actors who were very good singers but not particularly known just for their singing. One was Norman Wisdom - who played downtrodden fools with mostly physical humour (lots of pratfalls) - and the other was Don Estelle - a short, fat man who played a somewhat dim soldier in the TV series "It ain't half hot, Mum". Norman Wisdom made a record "Don't laugh at me 'cause I'm a fool" and Done Estelle had a strong tenor voice. He could have sung opera but, unfortunately, didn't - or at least not on record.

Outstanding performance by five amazing performers! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is my most favorite aria. I always cry even I hear the chorus. I would love to see these amazing comedians sing Nessun Dorma on a worldwide stage, like the opening act for Academy Awards. The world would applaud.

Turandot is my favourite opera and I have to say I didn't expect much of these comedians. Now they obviously all did astonishingly well - but Caroline! Goodness it made me cry! So beautiful!
