The clear mineral is Selenite, a clear form of Gypsum. There is no Celestine at Montrose to speak of. There are a lot of fossilized corals there too as in lots of sedimentary rock.

do you think its possible the calcite sprays are aragonite? i dont really know of calcite occurring in sprays like this, but its extremely common for aragonite to do this. aragonite is also a CaCO3 mineral so it should fizz like calcite with an acid test.
