Fitting my home made-window in Tuscany!

Sometimes a coffee goes a long way, especially here in Italy. Don't feel obliged in any way though, best of all would be to come to Tuscany and have one here with me!

Personally, I'd just securely tarp your ride and use it only when it isn't raining. And look into moisture absorbers to deal with the mold. I used them on my sailboat when I wasn't using it for longer periods of time. Just a little plastic container with a 'strainer' in the top where the dry chemicals were placed. As they absorbed moisture they turned into a thick liquid and accumulated in the bottom of the container.

And drill a drain hole in the floor. I regretted that with my last car. It would have saved me from wet feet.

@@janetplanet09 If our guy wants to get fancy, drill drain holes in all footwells. Install 'duck bill' valves which allow water to drain out but not splash back in while driving. Maybe even put a screen over the opening so that it's less likely to get plugged.

Can you use the current panels as a pattern and buy some waterproof fabric to make your own replacement roof? Or perhaps employ someone who works in those canvas-y type of industry to try for you? Tent makers and such. Good luck.

Have to say-between flooded, moldy car, stray cats in the house and a challenging neighbor……. those things would have put me over the edge yet, you, take it all in stride. You get some serious pats on the back for that! 6. View never gets tiring! Even listening to the rain, very soothing! Front veranda looks so inviting and glad you’re giving the rose bush some love! This year the weather is trying hard to disguise summer...Was watching the match in Germany, it rained the whole time. The window came out fine, is the reverse of our old practice over here, were the glass panes would be glued from the outside, exterior side as flat as possible leaving most wood frame to the inside face. Put some wood treatment against bugs and fungi, or else they will spread from the old frame to your new one really fast. Treated wood last forever. As for the car, it could use a car cover for the seasons it sits unused. Also the floor drains got plugged, better unblock to avoid water to collect inside and rot the entire floor.

In the latest KZread vlog for "This old french house" Marius is using a paint that is blocking anything coming through the paint from the timber beneath, I was thinking this may help you with your issue on the walls in your kitchen. Marius is using it on wood so not sure if it will work on stone, however it may be worth investigating. Regards Bronwyn

It doesn’t matter if the cost of a new roof is more than the car is worth. The fair market value of an automobile matters only when you’re trading it in or getting an insurance settlement. You’ll never trade it in and it likely will not be stolen or totalled. Known to be fully functional cars are worth far more than fair market value. Go ahead and spend the money on a new roof.
