Roger Navarrete also the football player bent his knees, the ballet dancer had straight legs and mostly pointed toes which could account for the football player taking that one since it was so close.

Ballet is tough, and when I did ballet, I would cry so much. That's how painful it is. You would get blisters, be sore for the next day, especially if you dance for a long amount of hours- I would dance 6 days a week, monday-wednesday, friday: 4-7pm; saturday: 9am-6pm; sunday: 12pm-6pm; thursdays- off. I just think that a lot of people don't actually understand how hard ballet is, and that's why you don't just go straight to pointe, it takes years. Ballet is underrated. [update]: Hey! So I totally forgot about this comment and only now just got a notification about it. In no way am I saying that football isn’t tough, because I know it is. In fact pretty much any sport is tough, and we shouldn’t underestimate ANY sport. But I was just making it clear that ballet it tough because there are still people today that think it’s so easy and that you can become a principal dancer overnight. And as for ballet, I personally think it’s the hardest out of all types of dance, but hey that’s just my opinion. I give respect to all other sports and when I meet someone that players another sport that says dancing is so easy/not a sport, I just feel so disrespected. Yes if you’re talking about tik tok type of dances, I wouldn’t classify that as hard/a sport, but ballet is definitely without a doubt very hard/sport.

Kayla Valdellon I AGREE i did regular ballet for 4 years and then started pointe (in third grade too, yikes) . It wasn’t bad, but my teacher made it incredibly unbearable because she was always screaming for no reason, and made us do moves she knew we couldn’t do yet so I quit after that 😂. I just do lyrical and hip hop now.

The New Praetor oh stfu. Most people give football common respect, and push dance off as “dainty” or “feminine” and say dumb crap like “Dance is too girly to be a sport” or “dance is too easy to be a sport” So if anything football is overrated and dance is underrated.

I get this isnt scientific but you measured all wrong. You cant measure the sit and reach by length because everyones arm and leg lengths are different. Also, the jump should have been measure by how far off the ground they got, not arm reach.

  • @Yupppi

To begin with flexibility isn't very useful measurement for anything, far more important is mobility (control/strength over ranges of motion). They also didn't perform even close to valid pushups, they didn't list weights and +40 reps is quite a clear indication that you're not measuring strength anymore.

Also this was way too basic a fitness test - ballet dancers have to develop perfect technique for years and artistry. In football there is strategy and teamwork and game mindset. Two completely different fields of athleticism and both difficult. I am slightly biased towards ballet though because it is incredibly difficult and precise work that combines physical strength and endurance with character acting and artistry

@@brodyca1898 It's not easy for sure but anyone who is fit and learns the rules can play football because running and chasing is natural for the human body, difficult but NATURAL. This isn't the case for ballet and being fit and learning the rules is not enough because your body needs to be shaped from a young age to be in unnatural positions, that is why the most impressing ballet dancers have been doing ballet from a very young age, while their bones were still soft enough to be shaped and develop insane flexibility.

@@brodyca1898 Can you comprehend what I said though? It's not a competition, it's acknowledging the difference between natural movements and unnatural ones. Natural movements like in football, can be extremely difficult but if you really love it, train and focus, you can learn how to play it. Unnatural movements, like in ballet, are impossible if you haven't changed your body since you were young. Imagine dedicating your life to something since you are 3 years old in order to be considered good at it when you are like 20 years old. That is how long it takes on average to be able to dance in a show as the protagonist (solo). Now think of the solo role in football terms as the cornerback and imagine you are only given this position after 20 years of practicing.

So if skating is really harder than ballet then why can't that guy do ballet well? Oh and he's been doing ballet for awhile too and he is still a terrible dancer. Another guy who has been doing ballet for the same amount of time is so much better than him.

cp star It actually is very possible. Planking doesn't really depend on if you're a professional athlete or not (unless you're a professional planker, that is :P). These athletes probably don't spend a lot of time planking, because they do other core exercises as well. Lots of people on my swim team can hold a plank for 10-20 minutes when they set their mind to it, but even Michael Phelps, who is the greatest Olympic athlete of all time, can only hold a plank for around 5 minutes.

I'm not sure if you tried to measure strength or fitness in the pushup test. Like what would their push type of close to maximal performance be? 85 pushups is an indication that it's far beyond strength measurement, so does +40 reps. You didn't list the weights of the subjects either and they didn't even perform a single acceptable pushup to begin with. Sit and reach perhaps measures how tight your hamstrings are, or if your hip is positioned in a challenging way. How would you compare them if you have no standardizing in the test?

I don't like the half-rep pushups they are churning out. It's also what you see in all those military pushup vids and challenges. Pushups are a strength tool first and foremost not a strength-endurance exercices. and should be carried out with perfect form (full range of motion up and down, no momentum). That being said the ballet guy is still doing quite well with 44, but it's no surprise the football guy wins.

so what ? sorry this is rather a joke…. let the guy do a don quichotte variation…. and by the way, dancers jump with a demi plié…. normaly 6 to 8 years of hard training to be a dancer and today trained in many different dance stiles…. no comparison possible!

Wait until you get more body mass. Doing push ups while you're young is easy because you're so light.
