Thank you for this video. Wish I had watched it before I tried installing my camera in a Q8. Yours is the most informative video I've now found. It took me three hours to install my camera using the FITCAMX video and printed instructions, both of which are unhelpful, as are the two tools they provide. I ended up using a Stanley knife and a flathead screw driver to get the three parts of the mirror cover off!! All working fine now. Really disappointed there is no way of accessing the camera remotely. It only works with the engine turned on - not off the car's battery.

That is pretty sweet, good idea to go oem fitting way, keep the windscreen clear and look like a stock option.

@@CRD90 No unfortunately, having a nightmare a bit with buying house process so been a slow year so far and haven't got much book at all. Kind of was hoping to squeeze in a session before new turbo but not sure it's going to be doable :( Be nice to meet at some point, when house move is sorted we'll be able to focus more on that. Got a long list of cool people to visit :)

Thanks bud, unfortunately I only had the car for a short time whilst installing it but from what the owner has told me it's good quality all round and still going strong.

Do you have sample of 4k video? Is there parking mode?

Looks like the camera is not recording the GPS speed and position. This could defeat many usages. What about night images, any blur effect?

7:03 it does not have a button for locking the event recording?

Any night shots? Is the quality good?

Hello. Can you help with trying to find a fitcamx for vw golf gti mk7.5 performance model. Do you know where I can find the correct one please?

I installed mine today. Took me maybe 1hour

I install mine in my toyota highlanderxle year2020 folling the instructions manual nothing works spend almost 3 hrs

I have the same camera 2ch for the Audi Etron and I can tell you, I’m not happy at all. There was not enough room for the extra cables so no matter what I tried I could not get a proper fit. I’m debating on returning it. Definitely not worth the “premium” price tag.

Do you remember when you have changed the oil in your A3 8Y? I have read that the first oil change should be done quicker than usual for new cars. I didn't see anything in the manual

I never owned either long enough as both were riddled with issues. From memory I think it was 12 months for the first oil service. There's somewhere in the mmi where it tells you how long is left (either 12 months or X number of miles)

Hey Thanks for the video. Planning to buy a dual one for Audi A4, wondering whether the rain sensor works perfectly with this connection? And do they have a option for continuous parking recording mode where I guess will have to hard wire it to the fusebox. But yeah, if the rain sensor is not affected, it is tempting to go for this one. Also how to connect the rear view camera? Cheers

Hey bud, you're welcome! The rain sensor works just fine with this as it's still powered up because the dash cam just taps in and piggybacks from it. The only issue is if you want a rear camera too, I'm not sure this model will fit but worth checking on their website (you may have to buy a normal external front and back dashcam and those would allow continuous recording).

There are two plugs and the camera comes with a female and male 3 pins connectors, so you remove the rain sensor plug and connect it into the male connector of the dashcam and you connect the female connector of the dashcam to the rain connector. Fear and hesitation of breaking stuff caused me to take about an hour to do it.

How is it at night?

The model i would like, it will have rear camera too. How will the rear cam be connected to wire? Will require wire running?

Rear camera will require a wire running from the back to the front camera. The discount code I've provided will still work though so hopefully that will help 🙂

Hi bud, this was fitted on a friend's car. From memory the status light would turn off which makes me think it would not remain powered for a long time after the car is turned off.

There is a parking mode feature that requires a hard wired connection to the fuse box. When triggered it will record for the video duration. If you want that feature and want it to work well you need to look into Blackvue.

Yep they do 🙂. Make sure to use the code we've supplied as it works across their entire site 👍. Best thing to do is contact them with a picture of your rear view housing so they are sure to send the correct camera. It even now comes in front and rear

Does this work on an A6 with matrix LEDs? I read somewhere that it does not.

Yes according to the website it does have this feature 👍🏽 see on their website if you need model A or model B depending on which mirror type you have on your Audi. There's a useful picture on it

Hi bud. Just got my UTR 2.0 installed. They’ve stuck the front camera to the windscreen. Shouldn’t it be attached via the housing on the back of the mirror ?

Which dash cam did you buy, I can’t see an option for Audi a3 thanks

It's just the generic Audi one, you have to make sure you select the correct model A or B. Hope that helps it also now apparently has rear camera

Is there a 2Ch version? I a Cam for the rear as well ? I've just bought a Blackvue dash cam 2ch but then saw this and I've got an Audi A4 Avant 3.2Q 2008 so am now wondering

Unfortunately not from what I know, you would have to buy a slightly different style to have a rear camera too. They have a few different types on their website.

@@CRD90 The only reason I was interested in this was hiding it in the rain sensor housing but on my Audi A4 2008 V6 there is a little black box sensor to the left of the rear view mirror but right up to the top of the windscreen and it's apparently for Japan and their toll bridges and obviously useless in New Zealand so what I was going to do was put the front blackvue Just underneath that black box which is on the left part of the mirror so just behind that. I'm not technical enough to hardwire it well actually I am but didn't want a tinker with an Audi A4 and V6 lol anyway thanks for your reply I'll take a look at the website Have a great weekend

@@MSWeaponsChannel I've had the dash cam in for a few months and the footage is pretty spectacular but I do notice that because the Audi windscreen changes tint with the weather cloudy weather can affect the picture quite a bit but sunny weather it's fabulous. I haven't got it hardwired but the main reason I got it was due to the amount of insane tailgaters and people cutting in and out but as a secondary a good secondary it's good for travel videos and even though it's to the left of the mirror it gives good coverage right across so yes quite pleased with it
