Fisticuffs Inside Georgia's Parliament As Lawmakers Pass Controversial "Russian Bill" Amid Protests
A fight broke out in the Georgian parliament during a debate over the controversial "foreign agents” bill. Georgian lawmakers pushed and shoved each other as the debate heated up. Lawmaker Dimitri Samkharadze from the ruling Georgian Dream party charged at Levan Khabeishvili of the United National Movement. This was after Khabeishvili accused him of orchestrating attacks on opposition supporters. The Georgian parliament voted 84 to 30 to pass the bill, which critics see as a danger to democratic freedoms, in its third and final reading. The legislation now faces a likely veto by Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, which parliament can override by holding an additional vote on the bill.

The 'west', namely the US, through its National Endowment for Democracy (look it up), found a playdoll in Georgia long ago. Georgia didn't decide to on a war with Russia on their own. The NED have been heavily involved in all the color revolutions in the former USSR countries. It's not conspiracy. The NED was created to basically be the civilian arm of the CIA. It's how the US sows unrest in countries it wants to see destabilized. Ever heard of Radio Free Europe? That was funded by the CIA and something like a precusor to the NED. This response was really just me taking an opportunity to offer a line of investigation for those curious about the behind-the-scenes of US hegemony. Anyway, from up Canada, have a great day, eh!
There is no such thing as "Russian law" or "US law" or "UK law" when it comes to defending a country's internal security. Any suggestions and actions against that smacks of foreign interference. Only those who have sold themselves would fight against the imposition of the law

What is it with some people who think the EU is the only way to go ? Not everyone wants to be part of the EU, on top of that the EU is not eternal. EU countries for now are united, but this will eventually change as the interests of each individual countries change because what is in the interests of a certain country in question might not be in its best interests tomorrow or in year from now. Things change you know. One day you will see a country leave the EU because its interests will have become too much at odds with its own, there is nothing unusual or new about this. Aren't the georgians conservative ñ, and they want to join the EU? Nonsense
If they couldn't find anything ,,Russian" or bad in the draft law, they finally stuck to the title, just stigmatizing. "Carrying out the interests of a foreign power" this is a confirmation of the fact when the organization is financed from abroad! It is not shameful, but it is proud to do the same work with such funding, which serves the Georgian national cause along with foreign noble interest. In such a case, the organization proudly declares that, for example, with European funding, it carries out the European interest in Georgia, which at the same time is a Georgian, national affair! It's a perfect match! Nothing to hide, on the contrary! Hiding, hiding and stigmatizing in a negative context only becomes funding when it serves dark and anti-national causes...
unfortunately Georgia doesnt understand being EU's and USA wing man will loose control of their own country influence. I would just let them have it without any issues. Let them see how their country will be controlled and influenced by EU/USA foreign policy.
And the process was 'democratic' as well. Maybe a color revolution will come along pretty soon

Their parliament TV must be entertaining.
It's not the law itself but how it would be politically applied. In Russia, they kept expanding the list of foreign agents to include human rights and healthcare organizations and politically activist such as Aleksei Navalny and his anti-corruption foundation (FBK). We all know what happened to Navalny. On December 25, 2020, Lyubov Sobol, a lawyer for the FBK, was detained and a criminal case was brought against her for trespassing "with the use of violence or a threat to use it", after she rang the doorbell of an agent who was recorded in a conversation with Navalny on how they put a Novichok poison agent into his underwear. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Current Time (a Russian language network) and television networks and radio stations are also on the list. I may be wrong, but I haven't heard of the U.S. government closing down television and radio stations or poisoning the opposition, let alone shooting them and throwing them out of windows.

@@tikabass First of all, Turkey is not accepted because of human rights issues, Islam and Turks are originally from the Central Asia (the latter has not discussed openly, but politicians know that). Secondly, Georgia is much closer to Europe than Cyprus. In Ancient times, Greeks defined Europe as a green grassy land. As far as I remember, in 18th century book, Europe ends at Kura river. After the Kura river is Asia. If you look at 19th and 20th century Western Russia or the Soviet Union, the Caucasus in Europe.😁 If you look at the new map, Europe ends at the Ural Mountains. The Caucasus is further West from the Ural Mountains. Cartographers themselves can't figure out where Europe ends.

@@napoleonbonaparte4396 In any case, we Europeans do not want another basket case country in the EU, and none of us will go to war to get control of the Black Sea. We are still reeling economically from accepting the the countries from Eastern Europe, and still can't believe how aggressive and racist people from Eastern Europe are. Try again in 100 years, after the Slovaks and the Baltes have civilized a bit. They are a handful and we'd like to have some peace.
Why can't they just accept the fact that they are under Russian influence?

Should have copied Hungarian model join first before showing true color now your country will experience how EU will threat aspiring to be members of EU ...
Salome Zurabishvili has said that: I will veto, but I will not get involved in manipulations and such games, don't count on comments, it's just ,,Russian" 😂 se also said the second miracle, the miracle which is actually called recognition - postpone the implementation until after the elections, that is, before that, maybe you will be cheated somehow with this opaque money - she literally said this 😂😂 P.S. After the elections, there will be no more Russian law, will everyone's minds be enlightened and everyone will understand that it is Georgian? 😂 The most important thing is for the "president" to act after the elections...🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂
Russia wants you. Rejoice. Daddy p will be pleased. That is all that matters. Peace from Canada.

@@hmq31415 Actually, you are wrong. This bill has nothing to do with Russia. In fact we in the United States have similar laws dealing with "foreign agents." It's a very common requirement. The problem is that those who wish to subvert the nation and government of Georgia wish to use secret funding via NGOs to do so. This law requires transparency of funding for NGOs. Transparency is a very positive requirement for government. Those who would argue against it are the ones who intend to cause damage.
