If it wasn't for the cold, darkness, dampness, cloudiness, I would love to live in Alaska. The one time I was in the southeast it was sunny for 3 days straight and apparently that was absolutely unheard of. I can't deal with the constant mold and everything being wet all the time, but the salmon runs are the absolute best time if you're a fisherman.

Notice how the water is always mud. A very fit older couple from Alaska comes here to Erie, PA to fish for Lake-Run Rainbow trout in early Spring as all the rivers in Alaska are mud until July.

Tuollaista se on ryöstökalastus kun on millä mällätä. Kalasta otetaan parhaat palat ja loput nakotaan maastoon..

Cut the back bone in sections 4 to 5 inches, 1/2 hour in watered down soya sauce and throw on the barbecue. Great eating and it doesn’t waste the salmon. Also smoke belly strip and cook on grill over wood fire. To die for.

+Buzz Bee That was exactly what my thought was. I have cleaned hundreds of fish on a board, piece of starboard, granite, stainless table. But never seen a piece of carpet. Would think it would take away from the feel of the knife. Never have filleted a salmon, but I think with a sharp knife I could leave less meat on the ribcage. But in the end, its his fish, and its his way of doing it.

I thought the same those carcasses could have been boiled and the meat made into a wonderful fish soup or chowder, cheeks and back of the necks salvaged as well why post this if your not using everything you possibly can. Another example of why we humans will be booted off this planet and its coming fast. As George Carlin says "Who the F$$k do we think we are"

Shame on you people so much going to waste. What a sad state of affairs to see the best cuts taken and the rest just tossed into that muddy river. Only non indigenous peoples do that, we see the same thing happening over here in NZ. Why is that I wonder?
