FishPro Tips - Accessing Fault Codes - Check Engine Light

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The FishPro, and other seadoo skis, have a lot of sensors that check all kinds of things. When a sensor finds a problem, like an Exhaust Gas Temperature issue/fault, it will activate a beeper, and show the engine light. To find out more exactly what the issue is one can call up the fault code on the dash display of the ski. This video shows you how to get the display on a 2019 ( an likely other fish pro models) to show the codes menu and the code itself, that you can then google, or look in a shop manual, to better drill down as to what fault happened. Note that for some faults, even after correction, such as reconnecting a loose sensor wire, the code can only be cleared using the software/dongle tools in the shop (BUDS).
Also note that the Google found instruction for doing this on the 4-TEC engine is incorrect for the 2019 FishPro. The FishPro is different. There is NO set button on a FishPro. You use the RIGHT ARROW button on the right handgrip control to access the Settings Menu, and then more right button pushes to get to the CODES menu, and then hit OK to display the code itself. See the Operators manual for the FishPro to find these instructions.

Great video. Recently had a code on my 21. There isn’t much information out there on how to properly check for codes.

Yup..took me a day of searching to find it and how it is different from the other Google instructions that apply to other SeaDoo craft. How to display them on the dash is NOT in the shop service manual, but what buttons to push procedure IS in the small Operator's Guide! SMH. In addition one has to go to Greenhulk or someplace like that to get the complete list of codes because even the shop manual doesn't seem to have all of them.

My '21's got a low oil pressure issue - I bought a candoo to get to the codes, not knowing I can get to them right on the cluster! I guess I can make a key with it, anyway. Thanks for the info.

Mate do you know if doing this will show stored codes at all?

Steve - I think that the handlebar way of checking will only show the active codes and that once the problem corrects itself will reset/clear them. Someone else on the channel may be able to chip in here with better info. As mentioned in the write-up, for some faults, even after correction, such as reconnecting a loose sensor wire, the code can only be cleared using the software/dongle tools in the shop (BUDS).

thanks for the vid Bill, my seadoo fish pro only comes up with units and exit when I hit the right hand button…so settings, unit and then exit are my only options :-(

@@billjenkins1535 the local dealers here say that the older fishpros cant access those codes without going to a service agent. New models can be accessed like your vid.

@@jasevtr1000 Humm, I did not know that. Mine is a 2019 Fish Pro. Just to be sure - Did you look in the operators manual that came with the ski. It is NOT in the big shop service manual but in the little manual that comes with the ski on the 2019 FishPros at least. What about yours? here is the 2019 FP Manual... www.operatorsguides.brp.com/public/tmp/219970EN.pdf Here is the paragraph pg 149 Displaying Fault Codes Press the right arrow on the right keypad until you see Setting. Press OK to enter. If a fault code as occurred during your riding cycle, a CODE menu will be available in the settings men
