Hey pal if you make it back to The Cape try to stay as close to the mouth of the river or ocean as you can. Also try to keep your bait off the bottom you wont catch as many catfish. I found my best luck in the canals was at night with cut bait and in the morning until about noon with shrimp. I down sized my tackle the last time I was there almost like I was fishing for panfish and it seemed to produce more fish. There are a lot of different fish in there you just have to find them. April seems to be a good time to fish there. Great content keep it up.

I’m not familiar enough with the area to tell you what it could be, but if you’re in a salt water canal the levels have been low with the tide in the morning and evening. The freshwater canals are even lower and I don’t know if you’d get anything on the shrimp. The bites came for me came best between 5am-9am and was shut down again until 7pm-9pm. Night fishing produced nothing for me as did daytime. I’m really shocked you aren’t getting anything on the live shrimp. I was told I’d do okay on the frozen, which I caught about a dozen, but live was suggested for better bites. I never got the live because the dead ones worked fine. I got those at Walmart for about $3. The crabs were definitely an issue tho. When I wasn’t casting the shrimp off those small hooks, the crab were stealing them.

No problem! Best of luck to you, I’m missing that place so much…love it down there! I think there’s a comment on this vid from Jupiter Kayak Fishing. They might be able to help as well since they are familiar with the area.

I think that’s what I saw thrashing about along the waters edge. They looked like they were chasing baitfish.
I used frozen squid bait and caught 3 fish in 5 minutes. Good fishing

@@live2fishofficial I’m also living in Mich, south, near Wyandotte. I now have a house down there and I rent a boat right off the river in the Bimini. I found that stuff in the fridge of the rental. It was instant fish. I’d definitely use it again. Then again, those catfish will eat just about anything. .
