Its not necessary to buy an expensive pole when short fishing. Most poles around £120 ish would do the job also for down the edge. You only need a lighter more expensive pole when fishing long.

I agree poles of all price bands can catch. Its at longer lengths that you can notice the difference. I would love a 3k pole and there is a difference. But i wont or would pay 3k as not got that many spare pennies. Did i mention you need a top end pole buddy ?
