My guess is that most fish are scared of the drone, and you're also a bit too shallow it seems. The schoal at the end seemed rather small. In winter when the fish is less active they usually gather on the bottom where the water is a bit warmer (water has its highest density at 4 degrees celcius). The way I would do it would be to lower a camera vertically from a drilled hole in the ice, and/or maybe use some bait and let the camera sit motionless for some time. If you have a depth-map it gets a lot easier, or better still if you use a sonar to find them. There are quite cheap sonars available now that works well! Just need Putin to back off first though. Regarding 12:24, I much prefer this to all the yelling and jackass-stuff with Kamrad. Now I look forward to watching the next video on Patreon, maybe I'm all wrong and you find the giant after all!

@@JoeKyser I was a bit surprised to see all that fish in the end to be honest, but that being said larger and older fish are almost always more cautious than the young ones (that's partly how they got to grow so large). But I may be wrong, I don't know much about catfish in particular.

@@mobeltass well thats what it is. Its the species of fish that determines how skiddish they are. Some fish are attracted to noise and attention while others arent. I dont think its safe to say the fish will be scared in general. As.a diver I feel like fish are more.friendly and curious rather than scared off.

Guys if you want to catch the big catfish try this. Cut chorizo about inch thick attatch to the hook add 1 baby squid and 1 little sweetcorn all on the hook line. Put in the water and do not move hook for long time. I and friends catch 50 Lb catfish and I have caught lake biggest 80Lb but it snapped everything on my rod. Monster fish. They l8ke oily bate. They won't take a bloodworm it is too small. Big chorizo for big fish. Try you should catch something. Small bait for small fish.
