Excellent video - makes me want to get straight out there!! Could you tell me please how the camera is operated in the video? It pans and zooms but I guess there wasn't anyone else on board to operate it...? Many thanks.

Thank you! It's a 360degree camera so it records in all directions. When you import that to a computer then you end up with a spherical image. From there you just zoom rotate and adjust to reframe the shot. That way you never miss a shot because the camera is pointing the wrong way;)

Good to see unbiased reviews and your own opinion. How you getting on with the wheels. My orignal curved excel ones are now scraping the bottom of the volaire air floor, so need a change. Plus i find them impossible to deploy and store from withon the boat which we want. Can you do that with these?

Thank you. I've had hands on with the curved 350mm wheels from them, along with their 250mm offering and the 350mm from Suprod. Hands down, the Seamax Deluxe 4x4 wheels are far far beyond anything else on the market - you get what you pay for. I love them so much, I wouldn't recommend anything else for a 3.6m and upwards. In fact, I think so highly of them I have actually purchased 3 sets of them - all at full price. My channel has an installation video if you'd like to take a look.

Also yes, there is a simple spring mechanism to lift up and down - with a fixed pin keeping them from falling off. Best check out my YT vid and you'll see what I mean. They also have 4 positions, so you can have rod holders on the transom without the wheels hitting them, and I get 95% or more engine movement in offset position, and 100% movement in vertical position. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fm1klbmwoJywfpc.html

Ok thanks. Was considering the beachmaster type with the Volaire but thought the clearance height could be an issue and the copy’s appear to have quality control issues going by some on the forums. These seamax seem to be the dogs so will see if Santa is kind 😊 The volaire needed quite a large spacer to clear the lip at the bottom of the transom, (box section was fitted by excel), but not sure if the seamax will still need that or not? Anyway keep the videos coming!

@bdr6199 cheers mate, you'll be happy with the Seamax I'm sure! I've not had personal hands on with the Volaire but I know what you mean - I've seen photos. The bracket for the Seamax are really thick, so you may not need a further spacer, and again the arms are vertical rather than curved, so in the vertical down position you may be ok. Though check out my other vid, you will see the bracket has 4 slots, that's 4 positions. They can be pointed in an offset position, which would face away from the boat. You will get less counterweight effect from your engine though. Personally I would offer the brackets up as a dry fit, see if you've got the clearance or not. Then consider whether you fancy adding the spacer or not. Let me know how you get on!

Great video. Do you find the Tohatsu 15 manageable on your own from a weight perspective? I am looking at this motor for my 3.7 Hydrus.

Hi Nick! Thank you! Yes I very often go solo. I can probably dig out a short video clip of me handling it if you want to see technique or reassurance. It's subject to your own fitness though. It weighs about 45kg which isn't a lot, but it's awkward! I load it in and out of the car boot solo all the time, and often wheel the boat right next the boot to minimise walking with it (which is the awkward part). Wish I went for the 20

Love the videos m8, just wandering how you feel not having a back up motor. I have a 3.4 m quicksilver SIB and my motor packed up on Coniston once..... had to row about half a mile in a very slight wind and it was torture.

Hi mate. I'm comfortable not having a backup motor. These inflatables pick up drift from the wind real easy so rowing back any length isn't realistic. Instead I always carry my anchor, so if the engine goes I can drop anchor and call a pan-pan on the radio.

Just listening to what you're saying about the lack of m something to hold on to, I noticed in Islander Outdoors videos he has a big frame at the back that his rod rests fit into. Maybe that's the ticket?

Yeah the A Frame is superb in person, looks really good. For me fighting tope, personally prefer being able to easily fish off the back with the tide, or swing a rod round to the other side. Spot on otherwise!

Hi Steve, It's a 6ft GX2 UglyStik 6-15lb line. Very light and flexible - I love it. Jelly shads/lures I usually use are 25-30g depending, and the slow jigs between 50 and 100g subject to tide and drift. I'm using an 80g in this vid - 100ft of water or so.

Hi Nigel, thank you. Out of the Excel Vanguard (ally deck), Excel Volante (airdeck) and Boatworld Carbon Pro (ally deck), my favourite has to be the Carbon Pro. It performs very well considering the weight and fishing platform it provides. I do also have a 4m Excel Scout waiting to get wet for the first time, so I will follow up on a video of that when I can.

A very informative video thanks .what weight is the boat before you put the floor in.

Thank you Tony. The overall package is 69kg, and I'm not aware of that specification being listed anywhere. A friend of mine is picking his boat up soon and he will weigh the deck for me before installing. He's picking up a different boat, but that uses the identical deck. We can subtract that from the total to give us the bare boat weight. Give me a few days and I will respond here with an accurate weight for you.

I've just bought the carbon pro and trailer from boatworld. Do you store yours outside on the trailer? I will probably have to, and any advice would be much appreciated. Nobody's really covered such an important topic as this

Congratulations Mike, excellent purchase - I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Which engine did you opt for? I'm not sure if it's too late but JCBW at checkout gets your £50 off borika mounts or seat bags. I store mine outside on a trailer year round, and I use my sibs year round too. Plenty of times I've set off with frost still covering the deck! The only difference between winter and summer storage is the pressure you leave in the tubes. A hot summers day can cause the air to expand and pressures rise too high. Whether summer or winter, keep it covered with a quality cover. I'd recommend Ducksback - you can get then on amazon. I've bought 3 in total

@@TheReelIsle I have an electric start power tilt 15hp tohatsu efi with remote control. I'm gonna have to install a centre console and wheel. I intend to use it during winter also, I'll order a decent cover tomorrow.

I bought a honwave in May this year, love it, for fishing etc, why do say they aint good for fishing from ? I'm still currently perfecting my set-up in it, but i'm new to boating, and I'm LOVING the journey :D

Hey Chris! I should have been more specific and did clarify a little by mentioned the airdeck variant. The ally deck T35 looks great for fishing. The Excels and Carbon are somewhat flatter making a little more suitable for standing up for lengths of time. Don't get me wrong, if speed was high on my priority list I would absolutely be thinking about a T38 - I actually almost bought one this year. Glad you're having fun in your boat. Tight lines!!

I fish most of my time sat down anyways, and travel sat down, only tend to stand up for a piss after I've sank a few cans hahahha So the V shaped air deck doesn't bother me much, yes stuff tends to migrate to the middle and get wet, but I'm working around that. I've done 40 miles in a few hours, with my dad and brother, my next trip might be Fleetwood to Douglas hahahahha

I'm not sure who you are referring to, but I know someone is paying full price for their new boat who are then free to make their own opinions heard. For the same reason I wouldn't accept a "free" boat.
