Man that lure is incredible. Truly, you don’t move the lure at all it’s suppose to just sit on the bottem and not move. The claws have foam so they float up and move around with the current and they see that and then they think the crab will pinch so they hit the claws, the only flaw with the lure is the strength of the hooks and replacability of the claws

I've used several types of fake crabs and tell Cranka Crabs worked the best of the bunch, but I agree with the negatives you mentioned. They were also very light and it was sometimes difficult to get them cast where I wanted and they also didn't do well in currents.

@@southernsalt I think the biggest thing about using artificial baits for sheepshead, aside from using slightly larger than a natural bait, is the schooling nature of the sheep's head, I think the biggest pick and choose food the littler ones kinda graze, eating up as fast as they can.

Maybe when it comes to sheepshead but I don’t believe that statement to be true for reds, flounder, and speckled trout. There’s also the problem of finding bait often times around here you can’t find fiddlers or shrimp so this provides a little confidence that you can still catch them without live bait.

May seem excessive but? I'm willing to bet. Let a blue crab rot in a bucket. Thread a bit of sponge about 4 inches above your hook. Dip that sponge in that crab juice and any lure will work on sheepshead. That scent in the water is priceless, unfortunately it'll call in any hardheads too.
