    Are you in the UP, or Northern LP? Either way, here are the names of river watersheds that I would think of to find browns in upper Michigan: Paint, Fence, Sturgeon, Yellow Dog, Ontonagon, Otter, Rock, Escanaba, Fox, Au Train, Manistique, Pigeon, Black, Betsie, Platte, Jordan, Manistee, Au Sable, Rifle, Big Sable, Muskegon, Pere Marquette, Little Manistee, Little Muskegon, or the good old Rogue. Most tributaries to these rivers should hold browns as well. Hope this helps!

    I have a Question for you, I see houses in the back ground was that public water? I know different states have different rules for fishing rivers and streams as to access on them. If it's private land that it flows through in MICH is it private or do they reg it as High Water Mark like some states so you can get access to fish it ? I don't know much about the laws back there and will be moving there in the spring time.

  • @CrouseOutdoors

    @CrouseOutdoors

    2 жыл бұрын

    If it is a designated trout stream once you have an access point you can fish as far up or down from that point as you want. You just have to stay within the banks of the river. You need an access point though. That could be public land or you could ask permission from land owners to access the water. That's the best way I can explain it. It is a confusing topic with a lot of grey areas. I need to make a video explaining it to the best of my understanding sometime.

    Nah The fly is deadlier than any known method if it is the hands of a fly fishing expert. What do you think if a fisher said he could catch salmon and sea tout with a completely bare hook...... Not silver either and it matters not about the colour so long as the hook behaves to give the predator 'the illusion of life' and also if the 'lure' (bare hook ) is seen by the fish as if escaping. The fisher must have had the experience of getting the fish to take a bare hook from his /her individual experience...... Once the knack is mastered ,never forgotten.

  • @michaelhall7921
    @michaelhall79212 жыл бұрын

    You are an excellent spinner or rather plugger...... If you don't fly fish ( said by the snobs to be a more sporting way of fishing ) (which is the most pure toffee nosed idea of all time) you would make an excellent fly fisher..... You may already fly fish & if you do then I apologise. Spinning as said by the purists ( fly Fishers ) is not as sporting as how 'they' do it..... utter crap. To be a good spinner takes a great amount of skill. A spinner is a more skilled all-round fisher than many a fly fisher because he knows about that important dimension which is, the depth of water.

    His methods are perfectly legal and (aside from all the treble hooks that really could be replaced with singles to reduce damage to the fish) his handling and releases of his fish are cleaner than those of many a fly fisherman I've seen (and I say that as a 25+ year Michigan fly fisher myself). Secondly, any fly fisherman that gets a brown like the ones in this video on a #16 fly needs to be buying a lottery ticket because he's having the luckiest day of his life. You might be able to pull that trick once a year during a blizzard mayfly hatch, but those browns will eat those plugs every day of the week and twice on Sunday. 🙂
