Fishing for Giant Bluefin Tuna in Massachusetts

Ойын-сауық

While fishing for bluefin is undoubtedly frustrating at times, and requires LOTS of patience and tenacity, it's easily my favorite saltwater fish to target. Not to mention that a big commercial fish provides a sweet payday. In this video, we fish 3 different methods (trolling, run & gun casting, and drifting) as the sun comes up, which is a relatively typical strategy with bluebird skies and calm conditions.
The fight with this fish lasted almost an hour and a half, though it's not unusual to fight a fish for over three hours. In my opinion, pound for pound, Atlantic bluefin have the most stamina and raw power of any prized pelagic species. They're pretty much 8ft, 400+lb torpedos of solid muscle built for speed, agility and power.
