Fishing During High Tide For The Upcoming Function (Qoli Samusamu)🐠🌊🇫🇯
In this vlog we are going to fish with the village boys. There is an upcoming function at the mainland we have to attend and we want to bring fish.
This fishing technique is good to use during high tide but you have to know where to put the fishing net in order to catch some fish.
We sail down to the end of the island as there are a lot of reefs there that we can explore with this fishing technique.

Suki time , grog on, from te ika a Maui , Maori. bula viliam to see you all goodda excellent brothers of Fiji moturiki
Those are some massive Giant Clams. They're called FAISUA in Samoa. Some of the best rare eatings the deep sea provides. When properly regulated they can sustain you for years. Please fish responsibly. Love the video boys.

@@Samizouza In Tonga its "Vasuva" amazing how similar the words sound. Goes to show how connected the Islands are in culture and genetics.
That's a haul worthy of a function, could already go kokoda on the fish with the usual and the giant clam in the beginning.🧂🌶🍋
The giant clams my bro, not sure sorry the real name. That's up there and above with abalone , paua we call it here in NZ. Brotha you must eat protect and respect that type of Kai bro. Takes many years to get till Giant brotha
God bless your island abundantly, you cannot go without fish in the islands.
Many people will be a bit concerned about the size of the fish being caught..However they wouldn't know that those small fishes are the best tasting (sweet) fish in the ocean if you know how to cook them..🤤

In Fijian, "Vasu" is reference to your maternal links or your mother's side of the family. But yeah, very identical to the Fijian word "Vasua" for giant clams 😋

nice.. bro i have a question. we also do net fishing here in our island of pohnpei. My question is when your pulling back up the net it does not get stuck on the corals?

You’ll have that problem if you’re setting on the reefs. If you’re setting on some sandy clear areas, you’ll be alright. 🤙🤙 Best if you’re out at high tide trolling.

All undersize fish which is a reflection of the breakdown of Fijian traditions and culture in this village. Uraia is a foreigner who does not understand what a real Fijian village should be. One thing he has done in terms of videoing his village is that there is no strict chiefly order and hence slum like conditions. Dou vosota o kemudou na cauravou but your portrayal of your village is absolutely disgusting and not what the real Vanua is like.
