FISHING DEEP for MONSTER CARP - Big Yellow Perch, Plenty of Whites & Nice Pickerel
Спорт
FISHING DEEP for MONSTER CARP - Big Yellow Perch, Plenty of Whites & Nice Pickerel. What a day. Fished some new water today and was amply impressed with the results. Not familiar with the bottom and time pressed gave a odd uneasy backdrop to the sensation of day. I picked plenty white perch and bluegill which was a great sign. Moved off shore to the outer drop. Hit the deep end and got a huge wallop followed by a forever never ending drag ripping bouncing bent rod. It is one of our never ending dreams come to life. The old Jon Boat was spinning as the great fish spiraled back to the bottom with a offshore trajectory. OUR long battle ensued. Every foot I gained the great fish took 10. The giant fish crossed my lines and tangled them twice over. I gave heed to demands. It finally came to view. I saw the huge golden flash and back to the deep he went. This went on several more times and trials before I finally had the huge now tired carp boat side. I could have grabbed him by the gill or scooped him by net. Some odd reason I decided to hand line him over the rail. A maneuver I know would not work. I do these things often. Was it that I took notice of broken 30 pound braid from the great fishes mouth? Some sort of mercy for a beaten angler? Or was it so I could just watch him drop and swim back into the deep naturally and somewhat victorious again? Both of us of course. The longer you fish the more you will understand these things.

what reservior are you on? I got a boat on the new croton and I would always fish shallow and never catch much until I saw one of your videos and I started to fish more deep and its honestly amazing. Great video

Hi Alaxe thank you for the words loved the comment! Thats a big water some good stuff in there! I try to break it down to small parts. Summer be a great time to work those drops slow (and fast sometimes)! i see guys out there beating the shore with whopper ploppers more often then not. Summer is a different monster then spring if you want to have fun. I enjoy working the worms specially in the deep. just anything is possible with them at anytime.
Hi Jerry, what a great day on the lake. Lots of Perch and a good size Pickerel. The Carp are really good fighters. They are the number one sport fish in Europe. I had to respool my reel with 30 lb braid when I was targeting Carp. They don't give up !!!! Great trip !! Good luck and have fun, Mickey

Hey Mickey thanks as always. He really fought hard and a great play did it all and gave it all like no other fish! Like you said he didnt give up! I think regionally people dont target them as other gamefish because the market will no cater to the sport and thus bleeds out to the angler. Carp are a serious gamefish!

Jerry we're gonna grab you in the middle of the night and drag you off to Europe! You surely would win a few rough (ruff) fish competitions 🐟🐟🐟 carp, tench.... The whole deal. Ever see micro fishing in Japan? The worksmanship that goes into the gear is absolutely amazing. I watched a tackle maker paint floats the size of a green pea with intricate designs.... Everything handmade by masters of the craft.

Nice day out on the water. That yellow perch was a monster definitely one of the biggest I’ve seen. Especially since most of the ones I pull up on the island are 6 inches most days. That was a big boy.

@@FishYourWay I take some cupcake papers and fill them with a mix of ground up spearing and cheap smelly fished based cat food. Freeze them up, peel away the paper when you toss them out. Brings in fish salt and fresh big time.

On the Allegheny reservoir just before the dam there are schools of dozens of huge carp milling about. Never seen so many.

Jerry I just noticed that you fashioned your own placement of the oar locks,,,,,, I assume that the original placement was too short for your frame,,,,, am I right also i never knew that they even made oars locks which a person can retro fit to make it better for their arms reach

Hi Steve, I was too lazy to take the old ones off so I just put em in front they are about close to where I want em but 2" in would be perfect I do like the position better then the old ones which I will fix and put in the rear position or use for sculling.
I'm going to far Rockaway on the 28 hope to see you there

Short handle on an short rod. Thats not easy to put pressure on a large fish. Especially for a carp of 20+ lbs class. But I have to critisize you Jerry: for a fish like this netting is a must.

Are you trolling the worms as you go along the lake ?
@FishYourWay
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is a combination of trolling drifting still and casting through the day pending on wind fish etc
