Fishing and the Miracle of 153 Fish (John
In today's video, we explore fishing on the Sea of Galilee. In John 21, there is a miraculous catch of fish at a location called Tabgha, where seven warm water springs run into the lake. The warm water attracts Tilapia during the winter and early spring months.
The Gospel of John includes a minor detail regarding this miraculous catch of "large" fish. John tells us there were "153 fish." Why include this detail? What is the significance of the number 153?

Thanks for your comment! This is one of my favorite insights. The depth of scriptural knowledge of the disciples - particularly John - is far greater than we can even fathom.
This may sound surprising, but I believe that tonight God lead me to this explanation regarding the meaning of the 153 fish. I have been wondering what the answer to this is for a long time but no explanation before tonight seemed especially credible. However, tonight a series of events led me both to this video and to some other resources with the same explanation. I think it is correct. I also appreciate the quality of the video and your delivery. I'll check out some of the other vids on the channel.

that does not sound surprising! God works in mysterious ways and there are no coincidences. We just have to have eyes to see how the spirit is working. I appreciate the comment. @@FigTreeMinistries Hi, thanks so much for the response! I think you're right; at times the Spirit really will lead us to certain places. The Bible tells us that God is found by those who diligently seek him. I imagine the same is true about the mysteries of the biblical text. I just fired off that e-mail. He never explain why 17??? GOD is Good and the word Good from the original Hebrew Alphabet means : Good equal : 2+6+9=17 17×3=51, triangular rock, which is Jesus and 51×3 =153 which represents the deity of God, Jesus! The Father, The Son and The Holly Ghost!!!

Re: why 17? The word Gedi - in En-Gedi - happens to add up to 17. The word Eglaim (En-Eglaim) is 153. the fact that these words are connected mathematically is what would have stood out in the ancient mind - particularly a mind like John's which is quite mystical. Sorry if that did not come through clearly enough!!! We appeciate the comment!
