Shortly after Marsh Barton station’s grand opening I was due to return to Northern Ireland, this presented the perfect opportunity to use the new station for a proper journey, being only a 15 minute walk from home instead of 30 minutes with St Thomas it’s incredibly handy to connect with trains to Exeter St David’s and beyond.
This journey presented another chance to sample GWR’s fine castle sets before they’re taken out of service and the HSTs on public passenger service are confined to the history books.
