kinda glad it isn't he's far too overpowered when put beside every other Star Wars Media even for an action video game character lol still you can have him brought back into canon by just bring back his key traits and abilities but toning them down so he isn't just out of place when put beside every other Jedi at this time in the lore.

@@CaptainAmercia in the old cannon while he was very powerful, he actually wasn’t insanely OP. See the book was the official “cannon” version at the time and he wasn’t as powerful in he book cause it’s not obviously a video game lol.

the best thing about these games are the physics nothing like force grabbing a stormtrooper only for his friend to grab onto him or destroying a whole tree/building which falls apart in real time.

Galen Merrick is one of the most badass Legends characters in Star Wars. A lot of people hate him since he's OP (I understand why) but honestly... who cares? He's cool lol

The game powers are meant to be over the top. That's what most games do. To put it perspective, if he were truly that op in the story, (I don't acknowledge the Dizznee-verse). There's no way Sidious wouldn't have taken Galen as an actual apprentice. 🤷🏽‍♂️

He wasn't OP - he was a force wrecking ball yes, but frankly that isn't unheard of. As Dmajini said, if he was truly OP Sidious would have taken him on upon finding out about him. Starkiller was heavily flawed and broken (as in his psyche/emotional state). And yes, a lot of the people who complained about his being OP often had no wider sense of the Star Wars universe and some of the bullshit other characters got up to.

Well the real Starkiller is actually Luke haha, before he was name changed to Skywalker.They just keep revisiting that name because it's homage to that tidbit of behind the scenes info. I may be wrong but as far as I know, Bendak Starkiller was the first one to officially use the name in the IP in KotOR, years before The Force Unleashed.

Well, Anakin actually encouraged her NOT to use it at first. But Yoda inspired her to fight more individually in a way that suits her more while still keeping her master's teachings, so the reverse grip stayed for good. The fact that both Skywalker's apprentices also used reverse grip is just a neat reference

Ah yes. Back when the word Starkiller made me smile instead of grimace. Honestly these games let players go on a power trip with the force. I remember when Galen first arrived on the SW scene and my fellow SW geeks were in something of a uproar over how OP he was. The apprentice of Vader was the Force Unleashed.

I pretty sure Cats face expression 100% percent a mixture of confusion, happiness and shock. And we love it. Keep up the great work

That force power galen used to turn stormtroopers to dust is possibly the harderst force power to master. The user must essentially self-destruct, drawing in as much of the force as they can to the point it is about to start destroying their physical body, but release the energy a moment before it destroys them. Thats why it's so powerful. Many have died trying to use it.

Galen Marek is an example of how powerful force users were during the time of the Old Sith Empire, before the Old Republic

@@mandabenbordewijk8318 To be clear: I mean regular warriors in the Sith army were that powerful. Especially their force attenuation. Their skill with the blade was probably less developed. Plus, Tulak Hord was actually Dark Lord of the Sith in the Old Sith empire thousands of years before the Old Republic.

This series had a very rough time... The second one had to be rushed and was not cut but literally butchered... And the third one was cancelled cause LucasArts was closed by Disney. I still don't really know why they had to cut the second title that much and why they never really got time to fix it properly, but I remember that Sam Witwer talked about it in an interview done by SWT.

the second game was pretty good but i can somewhat agree it felt rush. i just hope the revival of LucasFilm can revive the third game to end Starkiller story in the future

Starkiller is one of my fav Sw characters. His potential was pretty much the same as Anakins. Massively powerful force user. I don't wanna spoil it incase you play the games but his family crest will blow your mind.

@Scribbly Dark side anakin would be weaker actually. The best use of the force is more of a... Grey. Between light and dark. Using both. Darkside and light side, dedication to only one creates weakness.

i remember when games on last gen systems were unlike the 360 and ps3 versions the Wii game opening was really interesting appeared to be Vader's fists.

Starkiller *HAS* to be made canon

The first one is so cool and such a great origin story for certain key events in the old cannon

IT WAS CANNON another reason as to why not a lot of people like Disney's decisions for the cannon

@@Kizen. yes he was, because Expanded universe was canon until the Disney buy. Legends was noncanon, and EU was part of canon. When Disney bought it, EU was considered noncanon by them, but real fans consider it canon still

The first one is probably my favorite Star Wars video game of all time, such great story and fantastic gameplay !

Supposedly star killer is the """no there is another"" that yoda says to obiwan's Ghost in empire strikes back because obiwan already knows about the twins...And Leia... People are filling in the blank..lol He will always be canon to me and he was George Lucas approved.. plus he has a Lego figure ...They did make him a little OP in the game But they also did that with the other characters in the game... Yoda actually meets Starkiller on Dagobah And gives him a little advice..

The other was Leia and always will be Leia Skywalker. Not Ahsoka, Not Ezra and definitely not Starkiller

That first teaser single handedly generated so much hype back in the day.

At least we can confirm what Starkiller have force-stutter power.

This was my favorite Star Wars game ever. The second wasn’t anywhere close to the first though.

SWTOR is definitely worth playing and streaming! I've been playing sense it launched back in 2011. I'd love to see you play through it.

There’s actually a special cameo boss battle in the first game that you’d very much appreciate... and also I too got very.. very dizzy from that first trailer lol

"Starkiller Vengeance" is my favourite Force unleashed fan vid. You should look it up. I always watch it whenever I need my Starkiller fix. I wish we could get a "what if" movie with Sam.

I've never seen someone react to the evaporation like that. 100/10 reaction video, because you understand what true quality is.

The whole selling point of these games was the fact that Galen is basically a god.

before disney, Galen Marak (this guy) Was possible the most powerful force user to ever live. On par with the mighty Revan himself at his peak. He took down both Vader AND Sidious. He was originally Vaders apprentice but he fell in love and was redeemed, becoming a Jedi. KOTOR, to me, is and always will be the greatest SW game in the world, but this is GREAT if you love the feeling of raw unlimited power. Also fun fact, Galen MArak was based on Sam Witwers appearance. :)

First things first, thanks for the welcome! (as one that subscribed throughout the last week, because your SWTOR reaction, actually). Secondly, your reaction was amazing. XD I do have the first Force Unleashed for PS3, it was my first experience with this kind of game in the SW universe. Prior to that I played a lot of Battle For Naboo on my N64 back in the day. Force Unleashed let you customize a bit, like clothing and lightsaber colour and the way the blade itself manifest (some crystals seem to be cracked or to emit a more powerful wave of energy giving it a chaotic look, it's pretty fun). And the abilities are SO FUN to use, you're gonna love it. Some replayabilty value as well! I think your best bet is getting both games on Steam for PC as you said you have your boyfriend's possibly available. ALSO, if you want to know more about the main character and his abilities, there's a channel on YT that talks quite a bit about him called The Stupendous Wave. Just search for Starkiller Abilities and it should pop up. They do talk about that Force explosion he used that desintegrated the Stormtroopers and how powerful he and his abilities are, so... Yeah! (Dunno if I can reference another channel, but seeing as you liked him so much I thought you might enjoy those vids as much as I did while diving on this game lore for the first time) Anyway, looking forward to more content! It's pretty fun to watch someone be in awe of something you like. Keep up the good work!

Just a quick disclaimer, both games are available on Steam, which is a video game digital distributor available on Windows and MAC computers. the guy voicing Darth Vader is Matt Sloan, who is best known as Chad Vader from the hilarious Chad Vader Star Wars parody web series, and if James Earl Jones ever decides to retire, I think Matt Sloan would be the perfect choice to be the new voice of Vader.

Galen Marrick was probably the most naturally intuned force user since Revan. Trained in the Dark Side (Darth Vader) and the light (By Master Rahm Kota) he was everything Anakin should have been. While Revan may have been the greatest and most powerful overall to ever live, Marrick, along with Kol Skywalker may have been the epitome of what a force user could become.

Force unleashed has the best intro of any star wars games. The first level sees you playing as Vader and gives you his full power to get you hooked and show you what you will working towards for the rest of the game, get more and more powerful till eventually you are a match for the emperor himself.
