The holidays are on its way! What holiday movies are your favorite?

The reason R2 never stayed put in the OG trilogy is because the first person who told him to stay never came back. Heartbreaking honestly.

The cool thing to realize after watching all 6 movies, and especially if you do a Chronological rewatch, is that you see the beginning and the end of the story really clearly. Luke isn't the Chosen One, Anakin is. Anakin destroyed Palpatine and brought balance to the Force, it just didn't happen the way the Jedi thought it would.

Sad Fact: Following this movie, R2-D2 never listens to anyone who instructs him to "stay with the ship," but goes with them instead. The reason is because the last time he listened to that command was with Anakin...who never came back.

Fun Fact: When Palpatine tells Anakin to leave Obi Wan, Anakin tells him: "His fate will be the same as ours". All 3 of them would then go on to die on the various Death Stars

Ian McDiarmid was only 37 when he first played Palpatine in Return of the Jedi. He was surprised when he received a call asking him to reprise the role for the prequel trilogy, as he thought they would have wanted a younger actor.

Damn you weren't joking when you said you were gonna speedrun the prequels to get to Revenge of the Sith 😂

I really don't think Padmé died because of a broken heart. Her last words were "There's still good in him." She was a fighter her whole life. She wouldn't have given up on life like that. Not until she tried everything to convince Anakin to turn back to the light. And especially would want to be there for her kids. So I believe Palpatine actually knew how he can "save the one he cared about". I think he kept Anakin alive by draining away Padmé's life. I mean Palpatine wanted Padmé dead anyway because he saw her as a threat to his dominance over Anakin. The droid doctor had no idea what was happening, it just said what the only logical scenario should be according to its programming. I also like this theory because it means Padmé continues to live in Anakin in some form. His wife saved his life, and later his son saves his soul.

This movie and Star Wars The Clone Wars are why I love the Prequels. Order 66 and the fall of the Republic is probably one of the most impactful moments in the series.

For me, I first saw the Clone Wars cartoon as a kid. I then saw the six films in chronological order, and it was the greatest movie experience I've ever had

Ewan McGregor, (Obi) and Hayden Christensen (Ani) got actually that good at lightsaber fighting. The training they did for it was absolutely insane, and the actual speed they're moving in the movie is the pace they really went at it. Its fuckin bananas

It’s such a serious moment but I couldn’t help but laugh at “you just shmurdered all the Jedi kiddos”

What makes this movie even sadder is it was confirmed by the director that Padme didn’t die bc of child birth or being choked, but because she didn’t want to live without anakin and was heartbroken that he switched. It even says they don’t know the reason she’s dying, but they know she just doesn’t have the will to live anymore. So if anakin didn’t give in to palpatine she would’ve lived because palpatine put those visions in his head so he could gain full control.

I love Palpatines face on the balcony at the end of attack of the clones when he’s watching over his clone army. Because this is essentially what propels him into power, he has control of the separatists and the droid army and he has control over the republic and the clone army. An endless supply of soldiers to fight each other and destabilize the galaxy in the background while he’s in the heart of the senate getting more and more power and control

What makes the final moment between Obi wan and Anakin even more sad, saying "you are my brother" just shows the kind of love and feelings Obi wan could've had with Anakin. Remember in Ep 1, Obi wan wanted nothing to do with the kid. Even as adults, they worked together and had a great partner ship (sometimes with a few disagreements on the side) but because they're Jedi, they cant have any emotional attachments, even positive ones. Anakin had Quigon and obi wan as mentors, but what he really wanted and NEEDED, was a father and a brother to be that emotional support in his life. So overall, obi wan calling Anakin "brother" was too late.

You’re one of the only reactors who actually ‘gets’ the complexity of Anakin’s character and not just see him as a creep who totally deserves what he got. This one surely always made me appreciate the original trilogy more and more especially Vader and Obi Wan fights. The death of Padme and Rise of Darth Vader along with Anakin/Obi Wan duel scene still remains my favourite in this one. With that said Revenge of the Sith and Empire Strikes Back are the best Star Wars movies ever.
