Fun fact, all of Sex-Bob-Ombs' songs in this movie were ACTUALLY performed by the actual actors who played the band-characters, even the voice talents. Only took them a few weeks of basic training to get it down. Makes sense since the quality of their characters aren't supposed to be hit pros, more like promising up-and-coming amateurs.

IMO they wasted the Nega Scott reveal. In the comics, nega Scott was the version we kept hearing about all the time. The one always fighting, the one breaking girls hearts and destroying friendships but if you asked Scott he had no memories of those things. The movie even references this by everyone commenting on how he drinks and Scott insists that he doesn't. All those messed up things in the end created Nega Scott who he ultimately had to face. My favorite piece of trivia from the film is that when Chris Evan's character says "Why wouldn't you be?" to Wallace saying he's a fan. That's an actual response the author of the comic book got when meeting a celebrity he liked. And to you question about stunts, yes the cast largely did their own stunts, even the big fight with the "stunt team". They even performed their own music. They prepped for this movie for years, learning to fight, instruments, singing., etc. Also Beck wrote all of Sex bob-omb's songs.

I believe the comic wasn't even finished by the time it got picked up for a film adaptation, right? I kinda struggle to imagine anything else they could've done with Nega Scott other than use him as a quick joke without padding out the runtime excessively. But I also sorta like the idea of Scott being a jerk, and Nega Scott being a chill dude so ehhhhh idk

One of my favorite, and incredibly underrated jokes/references in the movie -- when Gideon tries to sign Sex Bob Omb to a contract, the song playing in the background that's coming out of his limo is "Under My Thumb" by The Rolling Stones -- a tongue-in-cheek song about a domineering guy who his gained power/control over the girlfriend who once held power over him. A subtle hint to the later revealed fact that he has both figuratively, and in this case literally, regained his "control" over Ramona when it comes to their relationship.

This movie was legit what got me into Edgar Wright’s entire filmography. Really, really smart comedy with good cinematography and excellent storytelling that tears through the entire film at a fast but fun pace. He has such crazy attention to detail as well, making repeat viewings even more enjoyable when you can see visual gags or foreshadowing that might not be totally visible. Highly recommend all of his works, though they’re not all for everyone, but his Cornetto Trilogy is by far my favorite.

All the other characters/ actors are top notch: Wallace, Kim, Julie, Nvy, Knives,…the best! My favorite fun fact is that the actress that plays Knives, Ellen Wong, (the one main character still in high school) was actually the oldest actor! @@AZDfoxto be extra fair, the people who made the movie had a general idea how the comic was going to go, and decided for some reason that Scott should end up with Knives. So it's true that they couldn't have adapted the end of the comic since the comic wasn't finished yet, but they still made an active choice to deviate from what they knew about it by structuring the movie around Scott and Knives getting together, only to have to reshoot the very ending when test audiences didn't like that.

If you noticed every ex does something that coincides with their number, Lee points with 2 fingers cuz he’s ex number 2, Patel covers 1 eye cuz he is ex number 1, Scott wore a shirt with Zero to symbolize he isn’t an evil ex, and the fantastic four 1/2 shirt Scott wore was after Roxy ex number 4 cuz Ramona said that he was an evil ex waiting to happen so he was going to the dark side a little bit.

Just found your channel! Was looking at reactions for this movie and stumbled here. Had to pause before the end of the reaction. That quick jab about the coins being damp almost killed me 😂😂😂😂 was in the middle of a shot dammit!! Anyway great reaction so far! Definitely got a new subscriber. And to add on to what one other comment said, about Nega Scott being so nice. The reason Nega Scott didnt kill the real Scott was because while the real Scott was..... special.....he had learned to be slightly better. In the comic Scott had a better redemption arc to correct his issues. In the movie it was much shorter. So Nega Scott liking real Scott was a way to show his personal growth.

I love these comics so much and I'm so happy that they were able to adapt all of them into this one film SO well. Like the comics are better but the film is hot on their heels and both are so freaking good

You know what’s really weird? There’s an alternate ending where Scott lets Ramona go and gets back together with knives. Which by the way, would have been a terrible idea. Not only did Scott cheat on her but she was obsessed with him. Creepy stalker type of obsessed. And I think the guy who made the comic new this because in the last volume he kind of calls them out for that bad idea. Basically after Ramona left, Knives is moving away after she just turns 18, before she leaves she and Scott have one last kiss and they’re both incredibly disgusted, because it felt wrong at this point.

The standout performance for me is Alison Pill as Kim. I actually went to the theater a second time mostly to watch her body mechanics - she's moving like a Hanna-Barbera character.

I don't think Scott "Just didn't care!" as you say...rather, I figure, he was avoiding unpleasant confrontations, perhaps through cowardice. He wasn't afraid of physical fights, but ones that targeted him with personal responsibility are horrifying.
