One of the coolest protagonists in a movie franchise... This movie blew my expectations! What did you think when you first watched?

Not as surprising because as watched the Tim Burton one, which came out first, first. ;)
Buck the Gorilla took multiple bullets to the chest and still managed to bring down the helicopter. R.I.P. Buck. And Cesar's " NOOOOO!!!!" Was breath-taking. An Ape's first words, spoken in defiance of human control. I never heard silence in the theater like that.

I remember seeing this movie in theatres and when that scene came up, the whole theatre just gasp and people were like “OMG he just talked”. It was one of the best movie experiences ever.
I love how Caesar's epic "No!" ties in with the story told in the original franchise: "Then, on an historic day... he did not grunt. He articulated. He spoke a word which had been spoken to him, oh, time without number by humans. He said, 'No'."

And the call back to the iconic line "Get your paws off me you damn dirty ape".
The scene where Caeser says NO!!! made my jaw drop in the theater! The air got sucked out of room.

Major props to Andy Serkis for playing Caesar and leading the Mocap Team for the entirety of the franchise. He truly evolved since Gollum! 😉

There were other mocap actors before, good ones, but Andy Serkis is the one who singlehandedly got it recognized as an acting instead of just a stand in.

And he was also King Kong in the remake that came out before this!
So, I didn’t get to see this movie in the theater, but I know a lot of people who did. And a lot of people said the same thing… Everybody laughed when Tom Felton spit ‘Take your stinking paw off me, you damn dirty ape!” (The line is direct from the original movie and it’s iconic) and then the whole went dead silent when Caesar replied, NO! 😮 It is a pretty amazing moment!

It really was. This series has done an amazing job at making really good movies.
IQ scores can increase over time as IQ tests don’t measure innate intelligence, they test one’s ability to take IQ tests. Most psychometrists may be well meaning, but a lot of people trying to make extrapolations from IQ scores don’t have much to stand on.

This. It's basically junk science as far as being practically applicable.
Just being in theaters and physically hearing the silence from the audience when “Nooo” was screamed is a top 3 movie going experience for me
Hello Ange!😊 Not only were there 5 Planet of the Apes films that started in 1968 and were released every year for 5 years. There was a live action TV series in the 70s, and an animated TV series in the 70s. Then there was the Tim Burton reimagining film "Planet of the Apes" (2001). Plus the 4 Planet of the Apes films starting with this reboot. The CGI with this reboot improves with each film, and they are all worth watching. Cesar is motion capture of the amazing Andy Serkis (Gollum). They chose apes to experiment with because their DNA is over 99% the same as humans. So, what works on them theoretically should work on humans. You didn't recognize older Draco Malfoy, Ange? Great reactions to your very first Planet of the Apes film!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
Hearing the gasps in the theater when Caesar first yells, "NO!!!!!!" to Draco Malfoy was such a treat back in the day.
I remember this fight between Caesar and Malfoy the first time. The theaters went on cheering in the 2011 release. But when the moment Caesar said "NO!", the entire theater went dead silent. What an amazing moment!
I am just commenting to say that I am so happy to see more reactors reacting to this franchise. So underappreciated and underrated. Glad people are discovering this masterpiece of a trilogy.
I’ve actually been waiting for this reaction for a long time lol

My favorite of the new movies, seeing Caesar go from a baby to leader of the apes is quite the impressive character arc
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!
Caesar didn't exactly know the A113 was any different from the A112.
The “NO!” Scene is so awesome.
Wild that you uploaded this today! I literally just watched this one a few hours ago and I definitely want to start watching the ones before this reboot/installment.
You are going to absolutely love this franchise!! Also, this uploads game is to count how many times Ange said "Monkey" instead of Ape lol Love your content! :)
My heart leapt when I saw this video! All of the modern Apes movies are great, especially DAWN ( the next one). The new one, KINGDOM, was also great
there are many parallels in this movie franchise that connects to the earlier franchise; bright eyes, "get your paw off me you damn dirty ape", ans even a girl named nova. once you are done with this franchise, i would love for you to react to the original planet of the apes.

It was also established in the previous canon that the first word spoken by ape was "No", I loved that they kept that intact. There are also news headlines reporting that a space craft has launched and gone missing in orbit.

Hearing for the first time that you have a significant other was a surprise but what's more of a surprise is that he was the one who told you about this franchise. Sounds like a pretty cool guy and fun to be with. I hope he suggests more movies cuz I've been waiting for the reaction of this franchise 😂
I definitely think you should continue the series. It's one of the few series where there isn't a bad movie amongst them. Also I think the original 1968 version is worth watching as well. The 4 sequels are up to you though. They vary in quality but you can see where the newer ones got some inspiration and catch some Easter eggs.
Fun fact: Will’s (James Franco’s character) dad is played by John Lithgow aka Lord Farquaad from Shrek
Watch the original. It’s the reason they are still making these films.
This series of movies gets so much better when you have seen the originals!

The editing for the Monkey/Ape thing was hilarious 😂 Love this reaction! This series is close to my heart and I love seeing others fall in love with Caesar
Hi Angelina, I enjoyed your reaction to rise the planet of when Caesar said no and your chills was really the best. This my favorite one !!! I see the apes all the time when I go to the zoo🐵🦍🦧
Oh boy. Imagine if you started a few weeks ago. You could have gone through the whole trilogy just in time for Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes. But this is definitely a trilogy worth getting invested in.
She reacts so extremely to anything that happens, that she looks exactly like that guy in the interview about 21 Stolen Cars

@@snubull Well, from a fan point of view, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th movies weren't really very good. The 2001 remake was an abomination. It wasn't until this reboot (and deciding to start at the beginning of the Virus was an incredible decision) that they started being good again. And, as an aside, I was born before the first movie (the original movie) was released.
Such an underrated trilogy! I’m sat for your reaction to pt 2!!!
best scene is "NOOO"
I'm a Koba stan (the one with the scarred face), you'll see what i mean if you watch the next movie in the series. I recently saw this newest planet of the apes and you definitely need to watch these first ones before that one.
i love this franchise both the current and older ones but yeah better late than never glad your reacting to these
This movie makes me cry by the end of the film because of everything Caesar went through and the music hit me hard as well during the ending where they climb the trees
The new one is SOOOO good. I just re watched these they are all freakin amazing. This will be great
Makes me happy that the new movie has all these people experiencing the trilogy (and maybe even the older films) for the first time ever! Now check out Dawn
You have one of the greatest editors on KZread they never fail to humble you LOL
Love the Natalie Gold reference
And here I was thinking about watching these movies. I guess this is my sign to gon head and start here😅😅😅
It is the 7th movie about the planet of the apes with these three newer ones being the back stories about how the world progressed worse for humans and better for apes
I love tis franchise. These moivies are so well done and written. The cast is allways brilliant.
Someone who knows more/better can correct me, but I think the general guideline of munkee vs ape is whether they have a tail or not? Chimp and gorillas are apes? Ange is a silly munkee, tho 🤣
@Ash_Wen-li
2 ай бұрын
That's a simple way to remember but there are some monkeys without tails. There's a lot more smaller differences but Great Apes: Humans, Chimps, Bonobos, Gorillas, Orangutans Lesser Apes: Gibbons (20 species) And then monkeys and lemurs which both have many species.
Oh, and that primate keeper you hated? That's Malfoy, grown-up from Harry Potter. 😉
I'm so happy that these movies are getting more love now.
Angelina, this is the franchise that forever placed their mark in our generation and we have Andy Serkis to thank for that. After his debut as Gollum, he took the role of Caesar and with his performance alone, he forever change of how movies are made with motion-capture imagery, practical effects and CGI. This one holds a special place in my heart because I’m also called Caesar, although mine has only one A at the end with an “é” due to my Hispanic background. As a kid who immigrated here many years ago, children from school have mocked my name often because it reminded them of Little Caesar’s, a pizza joint of all places. Then one day, a Language Arts teacher of mine from middle school silenced them and said what people call me is no laughing matter; for it is a name that came from a long line of rulers who became immortalized in textbooks because of how they shaped mankind and civilization throughout history. When I first saw this movie, I too was very distraught of how he came into existence and very amazed when he said “NO.” From that moment on, he became a figure of a reboot that actually worked and has become one of many top blockbusters of all time. Keep an eye out of those apes you have seen. Every one of them is important, just as they are important to me. His name is Caesar. Remember it. 😠✊🐵🦍🦧
This was a strong first movie of a trilogy. The pacing and the story were so well done. Dawn is my favorite of the series.
Saw this in the cinema when it first came out. Everyone went wild when Caesar said, "No."
Absolutely continue this series. If the first one blew your mind, the 2nd and 3rd will too. When I first watched this in theaters, I thought it was gonna be something weird like the Mark Walberg Planet of the Apes, but to my surprise it had a lot of heart, intrigue, and grounded action.
Hey I also saw phantom menace in theaters for that may 4th re-release 🙂. Also this is a GREAT trilogy. Personally I think the 2nd one is the best. Excited to see what you think about it!
Andy Serkis gives an amazing performance as Caesar! i recommand you do the reaction on Dawn and War next. And don't forget Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes since it’s out in theaters.
The original movie is even older than the 70's... it came out in '68, & rose to cult status in the 70's with multiple sequels (of varying quality)
Yeahhhh! Let’s Go! You finally watched Planet of the Apes
This franchise is criminally under spoken about. I wouldn’t say it’s under rated but defo went under the radar for reasons I don’t understand. It’s an amazing story of Caesars story and I definitely would love to see you react to the next two
Regarding IQ (Intelligence Quotient), a person's IQ score tends to remain about the same throughout her life, but this needn't have been the case... it's just an empirical (statistical) fact. IQ tests are conceptualised as a measure of g, or 'general intelligence'. So the tendency for a person's IQ to be relatively stable throughout life is taken to mean that a person stays at about the same level of general intelligence throughout life. However, g has two major factors (among others), called 'fluid intelligence' (which roughly is on-the-spot speed of processing and reacting) and 'crystallized intelligence' (which roughly is acquired learning and knowledge). It has been found that while general intelligence tends to be stable across the lifespan, fluid intelligence decreases over the lifespan, whereas crystallized intelligence increases, such that the one approximately compensates for the other (with respect to overall level of general intelligence).
First off Andy Serkis as Caeser is absolutely amazing, he is an incredible. I saw this movie opening night in theaters and when Caeser says "NOO!" everyone in the theater audibly gasped, a few "WTF" were said and that was probably the coolest moment i have experienced while seeing a movie in theaters.
CONTINUE WATCHING ALL OF THEM PLZ!
Angelina Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
You’re absolutely right about rooting for the apes. That’s part of the brilliance of these movies, they make you root for them over the humans.
19:40 i remember the movie theatre was so silent in disbelief after this scene. Literal goosebumps. Everyone had ur same expression
Planet of the Apes is easily one of my favourite movie franchises! I hope Ange likes it. Side note, Ange's hair, nails and make-up are slaying. #Queen

@@lordtrigon1733As someone who has seen the reboot franchise and is a big fan but hasn't seen the original 5 films from the 70's. It wasn't that odd to me. I mean it sort of makes sense. They are apes, they are dirty, they are inferior to humans. That's the thought process I was receiving from him not just when he said that but before, the way he treated Caesar and the other apes.
They actually tried to test on a less aggressive species of ape in the film, Koba is a bonobo, which are typically more docile in nature than chimpanzees, and it still backfired
I can't wait for you to watch the other movies! I've also gotten into these movies recently, and I really enjoy all of them, even the original movies (the Mark Wahlburg remake was kinda mid though) but I highly recommend that you watch the original movies after you finish these ones.
Can't wait to watch you watch th rest
Cannot wait for you to fall in love with these movies, and every time the hype builds when you hear “Apes together strong”
Hype. Second one is the best one btw. Apes together strong!
Awesome reaction of my favorite Planet Of The Apes movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
YES PLEASE CONTINUE WATCHING THE REST OF THE MOVIESSSSSSSSS
The wall matching her complexion in the intro is a little trippy 🤪😵🤯
Hi Ange, love your reactions, you are so fun to watch. When it comes to Planet Of The Apes In not sure why youtubers that react to movies and go to watch this they always skip the 2001 version with Mark Wahlberg.... Im basicly still waiting for a sequal to that one becouse it ended on a cliffhanger. Keep watching movies and I keep watching you :))
Loved your reaction as always❤. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing.
Fun fact in the beginning of the movie they cut the scene of Ceasars father running after bright eyes in the truck and being shot by the poachers, while it’s darker I think it would have shown how smart his mom was avoiding traps and how tenacious and loyal his father was.
Angelina your skin is looking amazing in this video ✨️
I actually watched this movie one afternoon for the first time because I had plans in the evening to watch the sequel in cinemas. God damned I loved these first two films
I assume that was Reece ruthlessly editing in 'ape' every time Ange said munkee. Good job, Reece!
Masterpiece trilogy! You’re in for it now, Ange
Just wait till you see the next ones it only gets better and better
Is almost absurd how much i love that ape caesar 😭🖤
This whole trilogy is incredibly under appreciated
You know it's a crazy movie when it's got you rooting against your own species lol
12:45 fun fact they are testing on bonobos a less aggressive ape similar to chimps but smaller, darker skinned and with less of a difference between males and females, koba is a bonobo. bonobos also are more like us as chimps share 96% of dna with us and bonobos share 98% also if youve ever seen a "chimp acting human" vid its probably a bonobo as they show human emotions of awkwardness, embarrassment and so on
You look amazing as always… did you change your hairstyle? Looks different but good on you The actor that sprayed Caesar with water is Tom Felton aka Draco Falfoy from the Harry Potter franchise
6:07 that’s a reference to the first movie made in 1968.
There is nothing Low-Key of Caesar being the Main Character and protagonist. the insane breakthrough in graphic design these movies did deserves the highest of recognition. we immediately forget Caesar is merely a computer generated image of an ape tracing the movements and acting of a human.
I still remember the time I saw this in theaters
The credits at the end of the movie shows the sickness spreading around the world btw
They chose chips to do experiments cause chimps are human's closest living relatives. We share nearly 98% of DNA with chimps so they're good analogs for medical trials. Now the ethics behind it is a different question
He definitely could've told Caesar he would miss him.
You truly get your Will and Caesar closure in Dawn.
12:40 Well they are, Koba ( the ape that there are testing on in this scene) is a bonobo a ape thats less aggressive usually but since the ALZ 13 made him intelligent he acted in a aggressive way
I love this trilogy so much
Definitely finish this Prequel Trilogy but also watch the original 1968 Planet of the Apes, just so you can see what this is all leading to, you don’t have to watch all the sequels to the original series of movies just the first
Is Angelina going to update us on her marathon training progress?
