To connect the dots with the Alien and Gordy, they were both wild animals being exploited and recorded for "spectacle". Even the eye contact prevented Jupe from being killed by Gordy thanks to the tablecloth separating them and the up-right shoe to distract him from looking at the monkey. Also, a balloon is popped before Gordy's rampage leading to his death and the same happens at the very end when the ship eats the balloon.

The show is also a false symbol. It’s abnormal, but not impossible. Jupe thought that he was special because he wasn’t mauled and the shoe happened because he had some gift. Eh, Elvis The Alien explains it way better in his video about why Logan Paul’s opinion about Nope is stupid lol

😮😮😮 Great connections, and I’m over here just thinking the alien 👾 arrived hidden or disguised as one of the balloons they brought to the Gordy set! And as the alien gets older, THEY disguised as a cloud when the alien gets older. 😅 I think the alien moved from the ballon to behind the sneaker because the actress’s sneaker was standing upright (17:18) with nothing holding it up. Then Gordy goes to check the shoe and taps twice on the actresses shoe, to see if it was there but it wasn’t. Also He kept the sneaker, odd.

@@itzyahaira thats a really interesting interpretation since we never see the aliens mating behavior or what they look like as juveniles!
The chapter "Gordy" comes right after OJ asking "What if it's not a ship?". "Gordy" is the answer to that question. It's not a ship. It's an animal. A living being used for spectacle and furious about being messed with.

and in the very first scene in the movie, we see Gordy from Jupes POV, and just as he makes eye contact with the camera, and thus the viewer, a lampshade rolls past his feet, resting at an angle that makes it look uncannily like JJ, positioned directly below Gordy in the frame as he demonstrates what aggressive eye contact. the movie is hinting from the start that Jean Jacket and Gordy are the same category of thing, eg they’re wild animals

@@akimbofresh8109half of viewers misunderstood the movie so
I see most ppl are confused about Gordy and it’s relation to Jean Jacket. Basically, Jupe believed that after surviving the incident with Gordy he thought he was invincible in a way or somewhat “chosen” as he discovered the ufo. He fed it horses and believed he could control a spectacle but overestimated it since you can’t tame something wild “hence a chimp or a ufo” also the shoe standing up meant “waiting for the other shoe to drop” or has several different meanings

The fact that we're immediately more scared of an animal from this planet before any alien(s) show up says a lot. Plus I saw it in IMAX and honey, that digestion scene will haunt me forever.
i think the whole gordys birthday scene is the lesson of not exploiting a creature for the sake of entertainment, it took him all his life to learn that when he tried to do the same to jeanjacket but only when he died did the shoe finally drop (hence the shoe standing upright)

It just shows you that Jordan Peele can do a straight forward alien horror if he wanted to as well-that man is TALENTED 😭😭😭
To answer your question if you’re still wondering, the gordy subplot basically serves two purposes, 1) jupe thought because gordy didn’t really go after him, that he somehow had “tamed” him or that he was loved by animals/creatures in general so he will remain untouched, that notion of his was re-enforced when 6 months prior Jean jacket (miss alien) appeared to him for the first time and swallowed up whatever but he remained safe (also that tracks with the scene where the dad died because that also was 6 months ago), 2) the movie discusses spectacles and exploitation of things in the media specifically tragedies , for example the Gordy incident was exploited by the media and even jupe himself ( the memorabilia, the masks for the merch and all) however jean jacket has killed a whole lot more people but because no one has any of it on film (proof of any of it happening) jean jacket remained unexploited killing machine that jupe died while attempting to make a spectacle out of it (exploit it) Sorry this got super long, but also to answer your question I don’t think Gordy was alien related it’s just commentary on how animals are again exploited for profit and remember what jupe’s wife said just before they all got sucked up “untrained animals can be unpredictable”
The scary thing is that the chimpanzee in the movie is based off of a real chimp that brutalized it's owners friend 💀 ( also zzavid if you see this you look stunning like always)

I heard a theory that the alien's little unfolding at the end wasn't a show of intimidation, but rather a mating dance/form for OJ since he was the first person to not make eye contact with it, maybe showing it his worthiness/capability to be a good match! Like, how could that new form possibly be good for hunting, however it certainly resembles something like a peacock, where it shows its beautiful feathers in order to find a worthy mate. Maybe a super far fetched theory, but i thought it was interesting.

"Look at it, It's stunning!" that's the point of this thing, the creature WANTS you to look at it ;) also, I don't know if you checked out other Alien movies, but ones I want to suggest are 'Signs' and 'War of the Worlds' with Tom Cruise
I watched this right when it came out and that scene where it's pouring blood over the house was SICKENING on the big screen. I'm not usually into scifi/aliens in horror but this movie was so well directed it actually kind of got to me.
Believe it or not, Jean Jacket is the first Alien that Humanity go "Yas Queen" and "Alien SuperStar - Beyonce" are it's identity song.
This movie had me absolutely GAGGED. It’s an absolutely beautiful thrilller sci-fi movie! The part when they get sucked up and then crushed over the house and then moves on top of ojs car had me gripping my chair girllll!
the cheetah girls referenceeee! it's over is forever a jam!

OK but the GAG is someone ON TIKTOK said that the big flying saucer bedsheet alien is actually a metaphor for an angel in reference to the Bible!!! 🛸👽👾 NOT ALL ANGELS A PRETTY!! I’m shook
My queen zzavid, I highly recommend you to watch 'The Call'. It is a Korean movie released in 2020 and it is a Mystery Thriller that tells about two women connected by phone in the same home but 20 years apart. It is 1hr and 52 minutes and not a single time where I got bored watching. Hopefully, you would react to it. Wish you all the best!

I know everyone's talking about the Gordy scence being but imo digestion scence was pretty intense especially when the screaming stopped, I got chills from that
Nope (2022) is a brilliantly crafted film. It's certainly different from all the other horror flicks we've all come to love and enjoy over the years. ZZAVID, please know that we will all be here to support you no matter what happens. You've got what it takes to reach after your own goals and dreams. I wasn't feeling well this week, but thankfully your videos help me from spiralling even further.
I was binge watching your videos last night and I literally had a dream we were in a video together interviewing Miranda Cosgrove 😭
I love you. That's all. 🤣❤ Man, the amount of incredible SHOTS in this film. The one of the house drenched in blood? MASTERPIECE. And Miss Keke absolutely killed this, I'm in love with her performance. Such a good watch!
@ZZAVID idk if anybody said this but Jordan Peele got a lot of inspiration for the alien from the anime Evangelion it is based off of the "angels" in there. Keke doing the motorcycle slide is from a anime movie called Akira.
I agree with you on Daniel kaluuya, he’s just so beautifulllll!🤭

The guy with the voice is Michael Wincott. He was in a ton of movies in the 90s, like 'Along Came A Spider', 'The Crow', 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves', 'Aliens 4', and 'The Three Musketeers ' with Tim Curry as Cardinal Richelieu. I don't think he was ever the star of a movie, but he makes a great villain. I always kind of had a thing for him because I'm a whore for deep voices.
🤣🤣🤣 Hey Ingrid! Is that you, Rose? Well, How are you? Fine, Ingrid...How are you? Oh, fine. Well nice talking to you. Bye, Rose. Bye, Ingrid. Saint Olaf's woman of the year episode. I love a good Golden Girls mention. ❤️🤗

@@zzavid5911 It's my favorite sitcom of all time! I received the complete series DVD set years ago as a gift (best gift ever) and literally watched them from front to back everyday for a year. It drove my family crazy. 😂
