This is the Prequel of the Harry Potter movies that happened almost 70ish years before the events of the first Harry Potter movie, this happened sometime around or before Voldemort was even born. Plus Newt was one of the well-renowned Magizoologists in the Wizarding world. His book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' was then added to Wizard school curriculums.

To be more precised, it happened some months before Voldemort was born. This movie happens in 1926 and Tom Marvolo Riddle was born at the very last day of that year.

It's never clearly said, but Frank is a Thunderbird from Indigenous American mythology, which is why he can create the storms and lightning. Also, Newt specifically says Swooping Evil's venom only eliminates bad memories. Love the genuine and open reactions from you both. ❤

Mr. Graves originally thought that Credence was a squib, a non-magic person born to magic parents. Another squib in the Harry Potter stories was Argus Filch, the caretaker at Hogwarts.

Community consensus is that Filch is not a squib, he is a poltergeist, counterpart to Peeves. Peeves is manifestation of all mischief done by students in its extreme, while Filch - manifestation of the order represented by teachers and staff in its extreme. Ms Fig - HP's catloving neighbor - she is a squib undisputed!

Ilvermorny is the magical school of North America, where students from both US, Canada and Mexico study. In comparison to the three European magical schools (Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstang), the school is rather young, having been founded in 1627 (even before MACUSA) and has a very interesting story, as it was founded by a witch and her No-Maj husband, which is a great irony that a school belonging to a country with no ties to the No-Maj community came to existance thanks to a No-Maj. Not just that, but the school was based on Hogwarts, as the witch that founded it was British (and a distant relative of Voldemort, hence a descendant of Salazar Slytherin) who was forbidden from going to Hogwarts by her aunt. Like Hogwarts, Ilvermorny also has four houses, which one named after a magical creature: Horned Snake, Thunderbird, Wampus Cat and Pukwudgie.

I like this movie, contrary to what people say. I have no idea why it is disliked. Also, a headsup. Johnny Depp was in this and second movie as Grindelwald. In third one he was replaced by Mads Mickelsen. Because after second movie, there was this infamous Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp case, which made Disney and WB fire Depp because of accusations of him, aka he was outed from both Fantastic Beasts and Pirates of Carribean, and yes, DIsney wanted to make new Pirates movie without Jack Sparrow in it. And when Johnny won the case, he said that he will not return as Jack Sparrow because of how he was outed from that franchise. So yeah, Grindelwald was played by two actors in this series of films.

About the gun argument, 1. You need to draw and fire first, before bullet starts flying, 2. Since there is such thing as non-verbal spellcasting in Harry Potter universe, and spells are travelling just as fast as bullets (as presented in movies), it all comes down to draw and aim speed. Voldemort doesn't NEED to say Avada Kedavra to murder your ass, it just gives him more gravity and he's all about the importance of the moment. Life or death - you're dead in a blink of an eye.

Anyone who already read HP books know perfectly well that Voldemort don't need to say a sh*t to Continuesly spamming killing curse all day. Voldemort from the books would murder a whole city without saying any magical incantation. Wizards in America had a not so easy life in comparison to the ones in Europe in that time, as, unlike their European counterparts, who lived peacefully with Muggles, the American wizards had no ties with No-Majs, not even in the goverment (like the fact that the Prime-Minister of UK is made aware of the magical comunity for better communication). After a certain incident that almost exposed the magical comunity, the President of MACUSA at that time, Emily Rappaport, passed down a law, called Rappaport Law, that forbidden wizards and witches from having any contact with No-Majs more than necessary. Basically, wizards were forbidden from having any type of friendship with No-Majs, much less marry them. Not just that, but carrying a wand became a privilage, not a right, where wizards need a permit to carry one. Students of Ilvermorny were even forced to leave their wands at school during holydays as long they were there studying. And when it came to No-Maj wizards, it's unknown how they were dealt with, as the law didn't allow any exceptions. There are two possibilities: in the first one, the No-Maj parents had their memories modified to make them think their children were in a boarding school, with no knowledge of them being magical and the children were forbidden from ever telling them, and the second one (and far more sinister) is that the children would be separated from their parents who would then have their memories of their children erased, in this way cutting ties completely. Yeah, life in America wasn't easy for wizards... The Rappaport Law was lifted only in 1965 and, during that time, many wizards and witches would move to Europe in order to marry No-Majs and stay there, in order to avoid any consequences.

The Fantastic Beasts films are criminally underrated. Yes their not the best but their not total garbage. They expand on the Wizarding World by showing us America. As an American I've always wondered what magic was like their. The main 4 have amazing chemistry and really bounce off each other well. The beast are all cool and interesting. Eddie Redman was Newt Scamander was PERFECT casting, can't see anyone else playing that role. Grindelwald is an amazing bad guy because he's not just evil of the sake of it. He GENUINELY wants to help the wizards but the way he's going about it is the problem. I liked Mads as Grindelwald but Johnny's will always be better in my opinion. He's got everything: he can pull out the charisma, shows regret at things he orders others to do, can be really intimidating, and the way Johnny uses the wand is so different from any other character. An amazing detail is how Dumbledore is the ONLY ONE who says Grindelwald name right. It's pronounced Grin-da-vald. I REALLY LIKED the second one, despite everyone hating. Sucks that their may never be another Fantastic Beasts film, their were going to be 5. It was all going to lead to the Great Battle between Albus Dumbledore vs Gelert Grindelwald. That would have be AMAZING to see.

But you still don’t go out the vision, you can dodge 1 or two depending of the distance and how good the aim of the other person is. We already so people use apparition really fast. And you don’t have only that spell. You can really throw at the floor and shoot a spell to disarm. And apparation isn’t the only way to dodge, when they turned in the “smoke”to travel really fast ( don’t know the name) it’s literally easy to dodge a person using magic. Not saying that is a 100% chance of winning. But they have really good ways to win against weapons

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set in 1926. The magical laws pertaining to no-mags/muggles is obviously inspired by the unfortunate real life American history where it use to be illegal to marry people of color. In European countries views on people of color weren't the same as in U.S. That is why world famous celebrities like Josephine Baker was able to become superstars in the 20s, 30s, 40s in places like France but was still treated badly in the U.S. at the same exact time. BTW, you saw an older version of Grindlewald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when Voldemort was looking for the Elder Wand. Grindlewald was the one that told him that the wand laid in Dumbledore's tomb. 🪄

I recently got a Pickett and have a Dobby 😃 Newt is awesome!! One of the most versatile actors ever! It’s Eddie Redmayne if you look for his other movies, from a trans woman to a serial kil-er, and Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

As an American currently reading the books (after watching the movies so many times) it’s crazy how there is so much world building. I’m currently about halfway into Chamber of Secrets and I’m loving it. The fact, that their are so many Wizarding Government (I know of at least 5 the German one, American one, British one, French one, Brazilian one, and Chinese one) and the fact that there are different schools both across continents (in the new Hogwarts Legacy one it even talks about one in Africa) not to mention the thousands of magical creatures that are native to different continents (much like our world) goes to show how much time JK Rowling put into this world and story. The fact that so many people have abandoned her for so called “transphobic comments” (they aren’t in the slightest btw she’s literally talking about a biological difference between men and women) just goes to show how awful the media and mob mentality can be in general. She definitely has my support and cannot wait to read more about the beautiful and mesmerizing world she has created.

@@iulia.bianca.b💯 agree with you. The craziest thing is when well known people try to say something “controversial” (basically nowadays anything that goes against the brain dead twitter mob) their stuff is boycotted, however her whole world is still in style but she is being pushed out of the world SHE BUILT. What she says is what traditionally would be called biological reality, but nowadays you can say you’re no gender at all and that’s somehow more “valid and brave” then saying you’re a biological woman who doesn’t want biological men to kick your ass in sports. It’s absolutely ridiculous and disgusting if you ask me.

So the CGI effects WILL be different and up to date. I think they are in the casting stage and one of the executive producers is none other than the book author, JK Rowling. 📚🪄➡️🎬🎞🎥➡️📺🖥💻📲👍
