Not gonna lie when I first saw this and that little boy said T'challa I lost it

I thought this movie was great, but it was also heavy. Most people were essentially complaining about the movie not being what they wanted, not that it was actually bad. They didn't like that T'Challa died instead of being recast They didn't like that the movie gave women such a big part in the story. Some people said the movie accomplished nothing but introducing Namor (which is wrong). Just a bunch of BS.

@@Rodanoar86that's ridiculously incorrect. Wakanda is now an enemy of the UN and the US wants to destroy Wakanda via destabilization. Vibranium is no longer Wakanda-exclusive . There's a whole new race of superhumans on the planet, and they hate "regular" humans. Shuri figured out how to recreate the heart-shaped herb and is now the new Black Panther. The Queen is dead and Wakanda no w feels threatened into change. Everett Ross is now a fugitive. T'Challa's son is in Haiti. Just bc you don't care about what happened doesn't mean nothing happened.

“They didn't like that the movie gave women such a big part in the story.” So.. sexism! Call it what it is. This was one of the best acted movies the entire MCU. Angela more than deserved that Oscar. This was objectively the best mcu film 2022! Arguably a top 10-12 MCU film.

I saw this in 3D with my daughter and loved it! It was different because Chadwick wasn’t in it and it took so long to make because of his death and how hard the director and cast took it, but I think they did well under the circumstances.

i feel like armour wars is about to be crazy

talokan may have only now appeared in the mcu, but namor himself is one of marvel's very first A-list characters (1939!). in the comics they're from atlantis. marvel took almost 85 years to give namor and his kingdom any live-action attention. props to the effects artists for making his tiny ankle-wing aerobatics not look ridiculous. imperius rex!

They gave Shuri Nakia's story when it came to Killmonger. In the comics, Killmonger corrupted Nakia and she became the villain Malice. In this, they had him try to corrupt her with her anger for Namor, but of course, we had to have the good ending at the end where she didn't kill him.

Your reaction is EVERYTHING! Although there are numerous factors why people say they didn't like the film..many had issues with the decision to not recast T'Challa immediately..also despite even in the comics shuri becomes black panther, some fans were not on board with a female black panther so soon..plus at the time fans were really wanting to see the marriage of T'Challa and Storm from X-Men because that is also part of the comics story however the marriage didn't last because at some point mutants were banned from Wakanda. But since M'Baku takes place of leadership it still allowed shuri to remain the black panther. Furthermore, now that we know that there is still a young prince T'Challa, it leaves room to still tell more of his story. This movie meant so much to me so I enjoyed watching your review. ❤ from Louisiana

Agree totally with what was said above . Peple who disliked this movie fell into two groups first people who were not deeply familiar with the Black Panter Comic .and secondly people who were greiving the loss of Chadwic Bosman that were not willing to accept anoher narative other than recasting , Reacstig would have made a horrible film because who could play the role with Chadwics intensity and what actor would want to . Even Letisha Wright said she would have never chosen to replace her brother , People who dislike this potrayal should have their opinions on everything questioned /

I cried so hard in the theater at the beginning of this movie. It's a beautiful tribute to Chadwick. Also cried in some middle & end parts too. It's quite a tear jerker.

I loved this movie bro, don’t ever listen to critics or idiots. It’s not cuz of a women lead but because other then spider man no way home, there hasn’t been any good mcu movies recently.

When I saw this in theaters, I admit I was disappointed. Chadwick was such a powerful presence that there was just no way to fill that hole. Imagine Iron Man 2 without RDJ. Obviously, there was nothing that could be done, but that hung over this movie at the time. I appreciated it much more after letting some time pass and rewatching it several months later.

(The Wakanda salute should ALWAYS be right over left.) LOVE YOUR REACTION VIDEOS!!!

In Riri's upcoming show, they may just say she was one of the students whose project he helped fund when he offered it at that presentation at MIT in Infinity War.

Good to see you again, Leo. For those of us who wish to see your reaction for Book 3 of ATLA, we look forward to it since the live action remake for it on Netflix is now only days away. I usually don’t see retakes on stories that has been long established, especially those that are highly praised but this one could serve as an exception because honestly, the release for it is already 10x better than the movie for it. Fun fact, like its predecessor, Wakanda Forever won the academy award for Costume Design. 😉

I've enjoyed all the new marvels. This one is my favorite and I hope they do a Namor movie. The pushes in the movies are kinda hard to stomach tho. This is excellent. Others feel like they are trying to hard like a bad amateur stage actor. Lol

My major gripe with the film is that they used ironheart. They should've made an iron man 4 with her in it. Would've been a stronger movie with the CIA using stolen wakandan tech or maybe Amadeus cho to make the detector. Many didn't like the changes to namor but with mutants not around it was a decent change. Looked cool too

Those who are hating on this movie are those who are against ONE of the things you mentioned during your viewing--this was a woman-led movie; the core actors were mostly women. What I didn't hear you say was that this was a movie about Black and Brown people, and that likely made some people feel like a minority for the first time ever and they probably didn't like that. 2 hours and 40 odd minutes of discomfort was a bit too much for them, which is wild when you consider so many others live their entire lives as minorities. This half of the MCU is a changing of the guards. Phases one through three were mostly stories about White heroes, most of whom were men. That area is over and some people, don't like the future that is here, a more inclusive future that is more representative of the world we live in. What's crazy is the MCU isn't erasing anyone! They're just expanding their cast of heroes and villains. Those who get angry about heroes not looking like they didn't in the comics need to realize that no one in the MCU ever looked like the comics! Tony in the MCU was never a Vietnam Vet and his first suit didn't look like it did when it first appeared in the comics all those years ago. People angry about changes aren't angry about the period changes or the practical nature of uniforms, but the race of the person playing fictional heroes. 500 years ago Europeans recast many biblical characters to look like them and they did it with the help of famous artists of the era. Oddly enough you can go to the places the bible spoke of today and the names of key figures aren't common names now or then, and people of that area don't look like the people those artists depicted in their works either, and yet the world isn't in an uproar of that recast. So why get angry about modern changes of completely made-up characters?

My only issue with this film is that Shuri was not a competent Black Panther. When the movie revealed Shuri as the Black Panther, I laughed. Also, the scenes where Shuri is enraged came off like a whiny child instead of a grief-stricken young woman. I rolled my eyes every time she started yelling

I mean, she's BARELY an adult, and she's lost her whole family in, from her perspective, like a 3 year span. Her father got blown up in Civil War, and she was only 16 in the first Black Panther movie, which happened right after. Then Infinity War happened and got blipped for like 5 years. Came back into a warzone, her brother got sick, and she, the genius, failed to save his life (lets not forget that he already had a big death scare when fought in the challenge against Killmonger). Only for a year after that, her mother, her believed, last living family, basically gets murdered right before her eyes, leaving now having the weight of her nation on her shoulders in the midst of all of that grief. And you're complaining that this, what, 19 year old, young woman sounds "whiny"?

@weirdguy To be fair, Queen Ramonda had every right to strip Okoye of her position. Okoye stuck to tradition in the first film and did not stand against Killmonger when they came to her for help. Same with her husband and T'Challa's best friend, Wakabe. Then she lost Shuri (no real fault of hers), but again, Shuri shouldn't have gone on the mission in Ramonda's eyes. So, it wasn't drastic of her for what she did.

I really liked the movie too :)

@weirdguy The Midnight Angels were dope in the comics. The name isn't horrible. They were the group of Dora Milaje that did the wetwork / assassinations. Ayo and Aneka were Midnight Angels.

​@@_TripleChanger-Achilles_and as someone who is queer, i love when movies have good queer characters and im sure other people that dont see themselves as often love to see characters like them. thats not a problem to me. what is a problem is when they do that rep badly just to get money from more people. and they usually have it so stuff like that can easily be cut out of international releases bc god forbid they lose money bc Gays Exist and people will use that as excuses for why marvels films and shows do badly when really its just because they have done SO MANY that they are not only simply running out of ideas and creative ways to do them (especially when they refuse to take creative risks bc they want to play it safe to get money, which at this point just makes them boring), the universe is so big that audiences are fatigued because you have to watch and remember so many shows and movies to even keep up with the new stuff. it makes it very hard to lure in NEW viewers, and a lot of people who are already marvel fans are still not fans and following every single character of every show. at some point the marvel universe bubble is going to pop because they cant help but keep blowing more and more air into it

People have been finding any reason to hate on certain movies recently; especially those centered around women, people of color or queer folk. Like I just watched the Marvel's expecting something bad & I actually enjoyed it. It was nothing groundbreaking, but it was a fun superhero movie

This reaction had my dying, lol. Sad movie but the reaction was great. He's not wrong about the Eternals movie being based off of the Anunnaki. The movie was a big ancient aliens story and the Eternals arrived in Sumeria in the beginning which would make them a stand in for the Anunnaki. Personally, I think the Director pitched the movie to Marvel because she was into ancient aliens. I doubt she was a big Eternals fan. Great reaction!

I enjoyed the movie, but I didn't think it was that good either. Not bad but not good. Worth a watch but not really rewatchable. Thor, love and thunder was the same. Fun to watch....once.

Yeah I didn't get the hate for this either (though I say that about most Phase 4 and 5 properties, I tend to be one of the few who still enjoys most of it). Especially considering the original Black Panther 2 we were going to get had to be scrapped entirely due to Boseman's death, and we still got this good of a movie out of a complete rewrite.

I don’t get why people hated on this movie. This is one of the best movies in the MCU!

@@midnightmadness7156 It felt like a mix of the two for me, it depends on your perception. If you weren’t aware the actor died, or you were more immersed in the film than real world events I don’t think it would feel like a funeral for Chadwick. Also what about all the Namor stuff, he was great!

They devoted most of their energy into honoring Chadwick, which meant characters such as Iron Heart and the Midnight Angels were severely overlooked and made into mockeries of their comic book versions. Other than the real emotion coming from the actors who had actually lost their friend irl, I don't believe the plot and frankly, it was weak af.
