I worked at Roman when I was in my early 20’s, (33 next week) loved wearing their bits for uniform, and they’ve modernised even more now. Still have one of the dresses and it’s so lovely! Think people should 100% give it a chance 👍🏻

What a successful haul Becky. Loved some of the dresses, particularly the blue and white one and the green and white one. I used to buy a lot from Roman when I was a size 12 and they were fashionable and good quality. My sister told me they had started selling a plus size range but I was reluctant to order as I couldn't work out my size as our local branch doesn't sell the bigger sizes. The sizing was very fluctuating from what I could tell. Some of the dresses were some of the most flattering I have seen you in. You will have your cruise wardrobe sorted in no time. Dresses are great for hand washing, putting securely on a hanger outside to blow in the breeze and wearing again. Take care. Wendy

First dress was beautiful on you

So I’m 40, a size 18 and still like to be reasonably ‘trendy’ … half my wardrobe is from Roman, but honestly … I think they do winter clothing much better than summer. The clothing is good quality, great value especially the sale, washes well, but is VERY hit and Miss in terms of style… I don’t think they’ve really nailed down their USP/ target audience… but I have to say I much prefer their winter clothes (nice quality jersey dresses, chunky knit tunic tops etc) so I’d maybe be inclined to try an Autumn/ winter haul and you might be more impressed x

That was a very drab intro you gave our dearly loved ROMAN RANGE who we the shoppers in the Highlands of Scotland frequent in particular JAMES PRINGLE MILL in INVERNESS and they have been wowwing us constantly for many decades now much to our delight. If you ever get a chance to visit PRINGLES which sits along side The River Ness you will be blown over by the colours, the fabrics and clothing designs held there in. Of gosh.....now I have gotta go visit again tomorrow. You know Becky you really looked great in the choices you made....the long blue candy stripe frock was the best I have seen you in. I think traditionally Roman was aiming at the older audience, but theu also have great basics and some really lovely pieces, as you found!! Their prices are good but the quality is there too. I often used to pop in when i had a shop nearby, and newrly always came out with a favourite item. I still have a gorgeous long aztec waterfall cardi i got there years ago, and its washed well. I think Roman is underestimated and maybe overlooked, to be honest.

I’m glad you gave Roman a try. They have some really nice items. The blue and the green dresses looked lovely on you. I have just got 2 of the jumpsuits with ruched tops (no sleeves) they are so comfortable and double as beach wear as well. You can usually always find a 20% off code and it applies to sale items as well. I fully understand about the denim with stretch so much more comfortable!

Must admit I love Roman especially their petite I’m only 4ft 11in to always looking for a,petite range. Roman isn’t all older generation I love the jeans and jackets

It pays to be open minded about what you might find in shops you wouldn't normally anticipate being for your age group. Because we have so few shops left in my town we oldies can all be seen in New Look and H & M!

I love the blue and white dress the most. I also like the flowery outfit you were wearing in the intro. Where did that come from? Have a brilliant trip with all your lovely new clothes. Maybe you could do a shoe and boot hawl sometime. Boots for larger calves would be nice to hear about.

So impressed with the effort you put in, thank you. Don't go to the on-board doctor if you lose your footing in Santorini. My friend slipped on some steps, needed 9 stitches and was charged $4000! In retrospect, she should have gone to the local hospital, but thought the cruise company would be more thorough.

The green dress was your best dress, and the red shirt with black pants or it might look better with white pants if you have some

I think a denim blue colour jacket would look a lot better with that blue and white dress.

Tempted to get the lime dress and the embroidered blue striped. They look really nice on you. Wonder if summer will be over by the time it ships to the US haha.

Hi Becky I understand you are a younger person but I have known some people who buy from here but not on the plus size. The dress to the lilac I like myself and am old enough to be your mum. I like the line dress but would not wear that type of dress personally. The sundress looks lovely on you the stripes going down as opposed to going across. Horizontal stripes are also flattering for the plus size lady. I liked the sleeveless dress you had In prior. I would wear that as I am looking for the print. I have had tops with a small opening for your head to fit through. H&Mdo a plus size also as well as next All the best x

i liked everything although i think the little jacket was a useless piece. otherwise, the prints were so nice. a pleasure not to see so many huge flower prints...

Years ago I bought from Romans and was not impressed. I only ordered a couple of times and said no more. Looks like they have gotten a bit better by what you’re trying on.
