Pizza Hut came from the USA and known for their signature pan pizza, that's why the dough is thick and soft. I think they also have the thin crust pizza like traditional italian pizza if you asked. As for the cheese Indonesians are not used to strong taste cheeses so alot of food that uses cheese are toned-down to fit Indonesian tongue :)

There are 2 types of Italian pizza: northern & southern. The north got thin & crispy crust, while the south aka romano pizza got thick crust w/ light crispiness. American pizza also got 2 types: the New York pizza descended from northern Italy & Chicago deep dish descended from the south. Each got its own charm.

yeah Indonesian doesn't like strong smelled or flavoured cheese in the past so our main cheese variety can be look to two types cheddar and mozzarella that's it

Pizza chain in Indonesia mostly has that "bun". If you want to eat "thin crispy" type one you must go to Italian cafe / restaurant.

@@JohnTronto they are thin but they're still "bun", if you ever tried the Pizza at Italian restaurant or cafe like Pisa Kafe it is totally different

I'm an Indonesian and Pizza Hut is definitely not my favourite, the dough feels more like bread just like you said. But for the topping, super supreme in Pizza Hut is the best one. But anyway Domino has much better and thinner dough, would prefer that with pepperoni toppings, and if you guys want to eat the best pizza here, try Pizza e Birra. Soooo goooood.

I might be wrong but i think most pizza in Indonesia are american pizza where the crust is thick. And yes 99% Indonesian palate never tasted strong cheese 😂 Domino's pizza is not that different either. Their crust is just a tad bit thinner

Our pizza always that thick bun hehe. If you want crunchy one you need to go to Italian restaurant or domino had this hand toss one. And when you say bland that because we ate pizza with ketchup and or sambal 😬. The image of pizza here is always Pizza Hut type and not that crispy one, that due partly because the first pizza introduced in Indonesia was Pizza Hut

Thats Because Pizza Hut is American style pizza...not italian Pizza.. If you want the typical Italian pizza you should try Pizza Marzano (Pizza Express) or Dominos for the cheaper option

I work at kraft's factory in Bandung. We process cheese from new zealand and usa which have strong taste and we modification them with local taste. Why it's light cheese

I agree, pizza hut in indonesia taste like bread. I think because they are trying to follow what Indonesian most like. they are selling rice dish as well. it is so weird. however , they just want to sell as much as they can.

Mmmm looks yum. We have had Pizza hut in Australia for years. It used to be like a buffet style with salad bars years ago here, but has change to more of a fast good pizza chain, like Domino's pizza.

if you go to domino, try the pizza with the cheese burst. my favorite.

Next you can try to eat seafood (except u have an alergy seafood) in pasar kedonganan ,, you can buy all kind of seafood in there (don't forget to bargain the price). And Then bring the seafood to the some restaurant or stall near the beach beside the market, they will cook the seafood for you. The price not too expensive on there. Maybe you can search first on youtube about the market.

Basically pizza in Indonesia is not crunchy and thicker than the original Italian pizza, maybe it adjusts to the tastes of the Indonesian people

Pizza Hut originally American restaurant, so the pizza maybe more like American style with thick crust. Not like dominoes who has thinner chrust, but dominoes still has pretty thick crust (not as thick as pizza hut) from my opinion

domino's is american as well, in Indo if you want a thin Italian pizza you gotta go to a higher end Italian restaurant.

Pizza Hut is the American Pizza (thick crust) and Domino's Pizza is the Italian Pizza (thin crust).

I'm indonesian who happened to live in the state, for me pizza in indonesia are the best especially pizza hut, for me domino is suck too salty in the state, idk about Netherlands though but in state pizza are terrible for me as indonesian

That's what I don't like about pizza chain here in indonesia. It's lit rally a bun filled with toppings. But if you go to the dominos, they have an option for a thin crust, and that's my favorite. But if you want an authentic pizza here just go to the cafe or italian restaurant x

For the European taste the only chain restaurant that is decent is Pizza Marzano/Pizza exress from the Uk. There are small pizzeria places that are good in Bali eg Pizza Bagus in Ubud. Best value for .oney in my experience. Good topping ingredients are very expensive everywhere in Indonesia. For many people here pizza is just a kind of savoury bread and more people are exposed to the feep pan pizza style which to them looks more substantial and thus better valie for money as it is more filling. Better luck next time. Maybe you could try a nasi campur warung one time.

There are a lot of pizza maker in Bali which way better than pizza hut and even much cheaper if you buy them from the smaller warung pizza

You will need to look for a stonebrick oven baked pizza style, otherwise I fear you won't get the authenticity of Italian pizza. I come from NY and due to allergies can't have gluten, however, most shops that serve gluten free crust still know how to make the crust super crispy...everywhere but Pizza Hut. lol They even use a super thin gluten free crust but for some reason they just never par bake it, then put the toppings on and bake it longer. Even if you ask. Also their tomato sauce is oddly sweet. NY style pizza is very thin and crispy, without sweet nasty sauce, I highly recommend if you ever come to NY.

The thing with Pizza Hut in Indonesia, is they don't have a tight quality control or something. I think I've eaten all the Pizza Hut from different stores in my city. And i can tell you each store isn't the same. One store has soggy bread, one has oily bread, some has tasteless pizza as well. The PhD or Pizza Hut Delivery is not recommended at all. Not all are bad tho, there're some A-OK. They also vastly different with the first Pizza Hut i had back then in Ujung pandang. Where the taste was there. Only one is actually good lately. It is as well didn't have a good QC because i had platters without fresh taste. But, i talked to the waiter and i got the better cooked one. It didn't like a banter or anything, the waiter just asked to me how's the pizza. The next time i visited the place, it gets even better. I liked that particular branch in Dukuh Kupang Surabaya. This is the only Pizza Hut i would order. Yeah the bread isn't the authentic Italian Napoletana, but it is yummy. It is soft, has a little bit of crisp, the bread is easy to chew and has a hint of salt and EVOO. The topping is generous as well. I usually order the cheese Mania, Veggie lovers or Super supreme. As another brands, we have Domino's, i wont recommended it to you if you asked a better quality pizza. It is very cheap tho. The taste isn't terrible for the price but just, may not cut for you. I usually order the Thin crust pizza if i bought Domino's. My fav is the TC chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce is yummy. Thing to note is the Thin Crust one is probably not the best bread to go, but i ordered it just for my carb diet. It is more like a biscuit (if you're not from USA), or crackers. For many people, the Hand Tossed bread is the best. If you read comments saying Domino's bread is like a cardboard, i could agree with that. LMAO. But it is not that bad for the price. Pizza e Birra has a near authentic Italian Napoletana i can say. But the topping is on the less generous one. Maybe the less is more? The taste is kinda hit or miss depends on what pizza ordered. My fav is Salame Picante. One honorable mention is Alfie's Pizzeria. If Pizza e Birra is closer authentic, this one is even better. The crust is crispy. You get an EVOO dip as well. Still, the topping is the less generous one as well. If I asked what's missing from Alfie's, the fact the dough is kneaded by machine. Not by hands. I knew it from the first bite, and the owner also confirmed it as well. If the dough were made with the standing mixer, it will be chewy or rubbery depends on how hard or long did the mixing went. If only it were made by hands, it is perfect. Papa Ron's pizza is like the Pizza Hut but more expensive. It is a no go for us lmao.

I like the old classic taste pizza hut in the 90s, which is now in Paparon chain, owned by ex franchisee of pizza hut indonesia. But for better gourmet Italian style pizza I will eat Oma elly's, or few other Trattoria's pizza.

TBH the pizza chain in indonesia is kind of limited, the most popular is absolutely Pizza Hut and Dominoz (so if you looking for local place its kind of hard to find coz mostly it will be a chain restaurant) maybe if you wanna try a thin crust pizza you can try like Papa John's, Dominoz too has a thin crust pizza but you need to request it and it cost more than normal pizza (which is kind absurd in Indonesian stigma you got thinner pizza but you need to pay more).. but nevertheless love to see you try many of indonesia food (and chain restaurant food)..

As an Indonesian, I personally prefer pizza with the thick dough as it makes me full and more like satisfied haha, and the big size is more worthy to me. I think many of Indonesian think the same too. That's why most of pizza in Indonesia has thick bread.

Dari dahulu saya kurang suka Pizza Hut karena alasan yg sama, tidak ada karakter pizza di pizza mereka. Bagian rotinya lebih terasa seperti roti dibandingkan pizza. Tidak ada krispinya sama sekali. Bahkan pernah meminta untuk dipanggang lebih lama agar terasa tekstur krispi pizza, tetapi mereka tidak mau, bahkan setelah dilakukanpun, krispinya berbeda dengan pizza secara umum. Jadi aku menyimpulkan bahwa pizza hut bukan termasuk pizza secara karakteristik. Jauh lebih nyaman beli domino atau yg lain.
