My 1st truck was a 80 model Mack Cruseliner ,no power steering or air ride. Watching your videos kinda brings back the past,not all good.

Is that what they used to call the “ water market “? I would pick up in Brownsville, Hidalgo and all around the Rio Grand and deliver to the water market, tight. Had to drop trailer and wait on the street. Dan Ryan Expressway has holes a Volkswagen could fall in. It was always fun had a 379 with 48’ refer. They would steal your mirrors or anything else if you didn’t stay in driver’s seat. Had some good times up there! Stay safe. Later

I used to do the south water market 4 to 5 nights a week back in the 80’s. After a while you would get used to it. They had a cop down there that would spot you in, just watch him and not your mirrors...... ahhh the good old days!!

I live in Chicago. Traffic sucks. Their's a accident everyday on the highway by 12pm noon and it backs everything up.

Diggin the oil field plate on the visor. Family has been in it for four generations here in KY. Got a 94 379exhd daycab myself with a 265 wb and 3406c mechanical w a 13spd. Stay safe out there during these times you’re going into some pretty shitty places right now with all this election shit going on. Love the vids and the truck.

I hate Illinois. Especially Chicago. Couldn't imagine it with a stretched truck

niceee i really want to get this 379 exhd truck thats amazing but i drive through atlanta alot and i worry about turning radius and if i can make tight turns in it especially as car hauler and keep going back and forth i also dont know anyone driving one so i can just try it here ans there and see how it drives lol

You should get a old style top plate for your trans aka a backwards top plate. Put high gear against the dash. Flips the right side holes.

I'm at that railyard frequently off 47th. That left turn is a son of a bitch with traffic there.

Jon is right that a Cat 15 under the hood!!! You can tell from the sound and Jakes...

You’ll get used to the longer wheelbase, after a while you won’t even notice it.

Is that a 18" steering wheel?

Last time I was in chicago as a driver I was hauling cars and had to pull into the center lane/ turn land and unstrap cars with traffic both directions doing 50mph+ not great and the neighborhood i wouldn't say was great. Drivers are never looked at as good but most ppl don't understand lol

I can’t either it looks like a massive distraction.Euro trucks carry similar weight and the stick is on the dash and is about 6”

Can somome explain stripper pole gear shift? Is it suppose to look cool? I mean hardly anyone sees it? Does it shift better cuz it seems like a bitch to move it further.

What truck do you drive?

I refuse NJ loads NY loads and chicago loads. Not worth it. they always give 100 bucks extra cash but not worth it and it's not truck friendly. they need freight but hate our jobs and I refuse to deliver to places like that.
