Love your work Reuben ! Leg rope can tangle around your foil if its too long.

great video!!! thanks. when you go practice in flat whater is it important to practice both sides? i mean by thet, when you are sup foiling, to paddle to the peak do you keen the surf stance or do you paddle in a normal sup paralell foot position? if you use manely surf stance, do you alter between the two sides do balance back posture? thank you so much!! i am so enthusiast with this new possibility!!

good question. yes its always good to practice both sides. But what you can do is paddle out with your feet slightly off set to the break and then when you paddle for a wave turn your feet even more to full surf stance. But always good to try both sides on flat first. give it a go thanks, Reuben

Hi Reuben. The Aztron site says tge 1800 wing is for intermediate advanced foilers. If, like me, you have never stepped on a foil board before would this foil be ok or would the 2000 be better? Which one woukd be best for learning to flatwater pump? Thanks

Sorry for the delayed reply! This comment slipped through. The 2000 would be best.

I'm new to SUP but I can kite and prone foil. My goal is to eventually start downwind foiling. Could I start learning to SUP on a DW board? Or should I first start with a classic SUP foil shape (6' 130L) to nail the basics?

Hey Garrett, I think you could do either. Ive seen people go down both routes and I see them progressing well. They will both be tools to learn elements needed for the DW 'jigsaw' of skills. For instance, the DW board will be easier to paddle straight, but be harder to balance on...and vice versa with the sup foil board. The challenge will be learning to paddle with power in surf stance and balance on the board, once up on the foil you will have the skills you need from your previous experience. You could learn a lot on a traditional non foil SUP. I think we will start to see more hybrid versions of SUP foil boards - good for wing, SUP foil and usable for some DW runs in the future. These will be things like 6'8 x 24/25 100L....type dimensions. Interestingly my first SUP surf Foil board was a 6'8 x 26 x 100L before boards went super short for winging - I just did a downwinder on it and it worked well - obviously harder to paddle up, but works and MUCH easier to stand on. Regards, Will

@@SUPboardermag Thanks a lot! I've decided to go with a Quatro Wing Drifter 6' that I found used. It seems like a good choice to serve both as my first wing and SUP foil board. Once I've got more experience and feel comfortable, I plan to transition to a smaller wing board and size up to a dedicated DW board. Really appreciate your feedback and content!

@@garrettnevin Nice - the Wing Drifter is good - i've been using the 80L version for the last few months for exactly that... a cross over of wing board and SUP surf foil board. It works very well for it. Enjoy and keep us updated with progress. Will - SUPboarder

A wider DW shape will work well. Its just got to be ok to stand on in the rough conditions.

Not too long as it makes launching hard. From 70-80cm is a good place to start.
