Oh my poor boy. This has so many references to what we ARMY call the Bangtan Universe or BU. You will need to go back to their music videos starting in 2015. The story has been woven through all their videos since then and they also have a webtoon, story books and even an online game. It will blow your mind and drive you made, but you will need to go back to understand a lot of the references in this. The storyline is a big part of a lot of their videos although most of them can be seen separatly. Small spoiler alert: You're on the right track - the storyline does contain time travelling. (And - warning - also substance abuse, domestic violence, suicide and murder)

It is made for Signal however if it wasn't also about the story line there would be no reason to have the exact same people play the exact same roles, show the many doors of alternate time lines, break the glass like in Fake Love, etc. And Signal doesn't involve time travelling, it’s about a rift in time that allows two people to communicate across time while being in their own times. The Hollywood version from 2000 is called Frequency starring Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid (It's one of my favorite movies 💜) I recommend XCeleste's explanation video on this mv where she goes more into details than I can here.

You would need an entire 1000 paged book to explain the story they are telling. There is so much to it and its freaking amazing!

This is the theme song of a Japanese movie "The signal", and Jungkook write the music with a Japanese musician. A lot of Army think that the MV is connected with the BU (Bangtan Universe), a complex storyline witch run throught a lot of BTS MV, short films, booknotes and mobile game. And yes, there is a lot of common points et references to the BU, on purpose, maybe because the movie talk about time travel too et how to change the passed, . Army like theories and easter egg hidden in the MV (and miss the BU since 2 years I guess, because there's no BU content in MOTS 7 or BE album). But in fact, this MV was not annonced as a part of the BU and it is not certified as BU content. Meanwhile, when a MV is a part of the storyline, you can see under each MV, on the Big Hit (now Hybe ) channel : "BU content certified by Big Hit Entertainment". It's not the case for "Film out". But no matter if this video can be connected or not to the BU, it's a great song. Sad, beautifull and emotional . And Jimin's part, waouh ! He gives me goosebumps

BTS doesn't have simple music videos. Every music video tells a story. Every detail has a meaning, every thing is symbolic. Their work always carries a deep meaning. The vocals are amazing. All their Japanese songs are very lyrical and beautiful.

Dear Army, In portuguese we have a word to describe a feel which is mostly indescribable: SAUDADE. If you want to get into some understanding on it, don't go to dictionary or literary comparisons, don't watch tutorials on foreign languages and its meanings. Listen to Film Out. It's a perfect melodic display of Saudade. Yours and truly, p.s. For me, Film Out is all about her, Dona Geninha. + 10 years of her death and I still can feel her smell and hear her voice.

This mv gave me fake love vibes and in my opinion to me it's set in a parallel universe. Also this song is just so beautiful and the Japanese songs always hit me differently and this one made me ry as the lyrics are just so beautiful and also Jin really showed of his powerful yet soft vocals and emotion while singing

I would just like to know why is everyone linking it to the storyline... Yeah, there are some similarities but it would've been written in the credits if it was part of the official BU. Also, the MV represents the meaning of the song... Everyone is talking like it's offficial that it's part of the BU but it's not! It's just what fans did out of it. They do it with every thing possible so its nothing new but still- I think this is too much...

And even MOTS:7 didn't really connect with the BU, so it's technically been a solid 2 years since we've had even a similarity of the BU. Let us speculate 🙃

Oh Jordan!!!! You are correct that it has to do with time travel. You have only scratched the surface!!! BTS are one of the best story tellers that I know. If you want to understand the whole story line that runs through out all the MV / BTS universe a.k.a the BU, xcelest has a great summary of the whole story line. She explains it really well and if it wasn’t for her I’d be totally lost trying to figure out/keep up with the whole story line. It is definitely worth the look into, you won’t be disappointed! Loved your reaction, it makes me happy watching people experience the amazing talent of the 7 boys 💜💜🥰

They sure tell stories.. every song has a story, then pretty much every album has a cohisive story/theme, then every album series has a theme/story, and then their entire discography actually has an cohisive story. And I haven't even mentioned the Bangtan universe... And honestly that's to complicated to explain.. haha this video seem to be a part of the BU tho.

More than likely, this is not about the BU at all. This song is an OST for a movie based on a series called Signal. There are a number of similarities between the BU and Signal. Signal is about 2 cops, one in the past and one in the "present" that are able to talk across time, with a specific radio. They work together to solve crimes and try to save people. The memories of the people in the future change with changes made in the past. The cop in the future is also trying to save the life of the cop in the past. The past cop just disappears one day, supposedly stealing money and running off. The future cop has to try and find out what really happened so he can warn him and try to prevent his death. They aren't that many years apart, so there are people who are in both times. Also, Jin is with the guys but he also stands apart, watching them, in two places at once. There are 7 people in the room that Jin's looking into, not 6. That's a lot more like Signal than the BU. Jin is a pivotal character in the BU. He never just stands back and watches the others. I think Jin represents the future cop and JK represents the past cop. Just my thoughts
